Vilvestre is a village and municipality in the province of Salamanca, western Spain, part of the autonomous community of Castile-Leon. It is located 96 kilometres from the provincial capital city of Salamanca and has a population of 468 people.

The municipality covers an area of 47 km2. It lies 592 metres above sea level and the postal code is 37258. [1]

Climate

Situated on the Río Duero, the climate is typical of the Mediterranean with orange and olive groves.

The Spanish conquest of Nicaragua was the campaign undertaken by the Spanish conquistadores against the natives of the territory now incorporated into the modern Central American republic of Nicaragua during the colonisation of the Americas. Before European contact in the early 16th century, Nicaragua was inhabited by a number of indigenous peoples. In the west, these included Mesoamerican groups such as the Chorotega, the Nicarao, and the Subtiaba. Other groups included the Matagalpa and the Tacacho.

The Cortes Republicanas, officially called Cortes – also called the Congreso de los Diputados – were the unicameral legislature of the Second Spanish Republic between 1931 and 1939. After the end of the Civil War they met several times in exile, the last in 1945.

Casimiro Hernández Calvo was a Spanish politician. He was the mayor of Vilvestre in the Province of Salamanca from 1979 to 1995, a member of the provincial deputation for the same years, and a member of the Senate of Spain from 1986 to 2000.
