Wolf Racing Cars is an Italian racing car constructor based in the Province of Brescia, founded in 2009 after Avelon Formula purchased the rights of Walter Wolf Racing. [1]
After purchasing Walter Wolf Racing trademarks, Avelon Formula focused on the development of a group CN racing car that became very successful. In 2010, the works team Avelon Formula made its debut in the Italian Prototypes Championship with the driver Ivan Bellarosa, who won the first race and performed well in the season, earning the title.
In 2011, Wolf debuted in Europe at the Speed EuroSeries and in the V de V Proto Endurance Series, while also contesting the Italian Prototypes Championship. The Wolf GB08 pushed by a Honda K20A engine unit won the Speed EuroSeries Championship with Ivan Bellarosa taking 6 wins. Ivan Bellarosa also won the Speed EuroSeries again in 2012, as Wolf Racing Cars started its activity in endurance races taking part in the 24 Hours of Zolder and in the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi.
In 2013, Wolf Racing Cars won the Portuguese CISP and the Austro-German SCC, Division 2. Therefore, the company's focus shifted towards the International market with the manufacturing of some new models and the production of hill climb cars. As a result the Wolf GB08 F1 was created and obtained the FIA Formula 1 2005 homologation. At the end of the year, Wolf Racing Cars announced a sporting program in the United Sports Car Racing Series for season 2014. The car was powered by a BMW engine. [2]
Season 2015 was important for the Italian company by winning the Belgian Belcar and Endurance Champions Cup with its challengers. They also won the 6 Hours of Rome at the Autodromo di Vallelunga.
In 2016, Wolf Racing Cars commenced development on a new 1.6 Turbo power unit. On May 29, at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, a Wolf GB08 became the first CN-Turbo approved sports car to win a competition. During the year, the Wolf's two-seater repeated its victory in the Endurance Champions Cup, while in the United States John Morris and Ron Eckardt obtained several successes in the series of Spring Mountain Racing (SMMR), allowing Ron Eckardt to be crowned champion with his Wolf GB08 SM in the LSR2 class.
The big news in 2017 was the Wolf GB08 Tornado, a new two-seater Sports Car that debuted in March in Australia. Ivan Bellarosa was to become Champion at the Italian Prototypes Championship 2017 with 11 victories on 12 races. The Tornado was in several endurance competitions including the 3h of Imola, showing strong performance compared to LMP3 class cars. At the 6 hours of Rome, the Wolf GB08 Tornado got Wolf Racing Cars their 100th pole position.
The successful results obtained in 2017 allowed Wolf Racing Cars to win the tender to become the official provider of the new Italian Prototypes Championship for five years between 2018–2022.
Wolf Racing Cars has produced several sport prototype cars since 2009, including single seaters and double seaters featuring different engines. The most recent car is the Wolf GB08 Tornado that won the Italian Prototypes Championship 2017.[ citation needed ]

Wolf Racing Cars has claimed several wins not only in Europe,[ citation needed ] where it has mainly focused its sporting activity so far, but also in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Thailand and United States of America. Wolf Racing Cars challengers have been especially successful in endurance races, the events they have been specifically designed for.

Sports car racing is a form of motorsport road racing which utilises sports cars that have two seats and enclosed wheels. They may be purpose-built prototypes or grand tourers based on road-going models. Sports car racing is one of the main types of circuit auto racing, alongside open-wheel racing, touring car racing and stock car racing. Sports car races are often, though not always, endurance races that are run over particularly long distances or large amounts of time, resulting in a larger emphasis on the reliability and efficiency of the car and its drivers as opposed to outright car performance or driver skills. The FIA World Endurance Championship is an example of one of the best known sports car racing series.
The Imola Circuit, officially called the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, is a 4.909 km (3.050 mi) motor racing circuit. It is located in the town of Imola, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, 40-kilometre (25 mi) east of Bologna. It is one of the few major international circuits to run in an anti-clockwise direction. Initially used for motorcycle racing, the first race at Imola was held in 1953.
Michele Alboreto was an Italian racing driver. He was runner-up to Alain Prost in the 1985 Formula One World Championship, as well as winning the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans and 2001 12 Hours of Sebring sports car races. Alboreto competed in Formula One from 1981 until 1994, racing for a number of teams, including five seasons (1984–88) for Ferrari.
Teodorico Fabi is an Italian former racing driver. He competed in Formula One, IndyCar, and sports car racing. He claimed pole position in his rookie year at the 1983 Indianapolis 500. Teo is the older brother of former Formula One driver Corrado Fabi.
Nicola Larini is an Italian racing driver. He participated in 75 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on 6 September 1987. He finished second in the tragic 1994 San Marino Grand Prix on a substitute outing for Ferrari, but only scored points once more in his career. He enjoyed greater success in touring car racing, primarily for Alfa Romeo.
The GP2 Series was a form of open wheel motor racing introduced in 2005 following the discontinuation of the long-term Formula One feeder series, Formula 3000. The GP2 format was conceived by Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore, while Ecclestone also has the rights to the name GP1. The series was organized by Bruno Michel. In 2010, the GP3 Series class was launched, as a feeder class for the GP2 series. In 2017, the series was rebranded as the FIA Formula 2 Championship.
Judd is a brand of racing car engines built by Engine Developments Ltd., a company founded in 1971 by John Judd and Jack Brabham in Rugby, Warwickshire, England. Ander Vilariño Facal is a Spanish auto racing driver that is currently competing in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving the No. 22 Chevrolet Camaro for DF1 Racing. Vilariño is one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR Whelen Euro Series history. He has won 3 titles and has 22 race wins in his career the most of any driver in the series.
Marc Goossens, nicknamed The Goose, is a Belgian professional racing driver that currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, priorly driving the No. 14 Chevrolet Camaro for SpeedHouse in the EuroNASCAR PRO class. Advanced Engine Research, Ltd. is an auto racing engine manufacturer based in Basildon, Essex, England. Established in 1997, AER has developed winning engines for a number of high-profile international race series in sports car, prototype racing, rallying, touring car, and open wheel racing. They have designed engines derived from road car platforms, but their emphasis is on clean sheet designed engines with a focus on electronics and turbochargers. Their engines have raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), the United SportsCar Championship (TUSC), GP3, British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Nissan/Renault World Series, Grand-Am, Paris Dakar and FIA Sportscar Championship. They have worked with a number of manufacturers including Mazda, Ford, Hyundai, MG/Rover, Nissan, and Toyota. In 2012, AER developed and built Formula One turbo test engines to current rules and in July 2012, AER was chosen as engine partner and supplier to the new GP3 racing series. They currently supply engines for the Indy Lights series.
Filipe Miguel Delgadinho Albuquerque is a Portuguese professional racing driver, currently driving an Acura ARX-06 in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Wayne Taylor Racing, and an Oreca 07 in the FIA World Endurance Championship for United Autosports. He has claimed a LMP2 class title at the 2019–20 FIA World Endurance Championship, an LMP2 class win at the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans, and overall wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2018 and 2021.

He has been one of Porsche’s factory drivers since 2004. He was Audi driver from 2009 to 2012 and VolkswagenAudi from 2017 to 2019. He is Ford Performance driver since 2022. Adding to this, Romain Dumas is Chopard ambassador, as well as Benson & Cherry brand.

The 2014 Asian Le Mans Series was the third season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's Asian Le Mans Series. It is the fourth 24 Hours of Le Mans-based series created by the ACO, following the American Le Mans Series, the European Le Mans Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship. The four event season began at the Inje Speedium on 20 July 2014 and ended at Sepang International Circuit in Selangor on 7 December 2014.
Alessandro Guido Latif is a British/Italian race car driver. Latif is the youngest race winner of a V de V Proto Endurance Challenge race. In 2014 he competed in the Blancpain Sprint Series driving for Phoenix Racing, the Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours driving an Audi R8 LMS for Flying Lizard Motorsports. Latif's early career involved an upbringing in karts and Formula Renault 2.0.
