Xinjiang Agricultural University (XAU) (Chinese :新疆农业大学; pinyin :Xīnjiāng Nóngyè Dàxué; Uyghur : شىنجاڭ يېزائېگىلىك ئۇنىۋېرسىتېتى) is a higher education institution in Ürümqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. [2] It specializes in courses and research relating to construction in agricultural contexts. [3]
XAU was founded on 1 August 1952, by the PLA general Wang Zhen under the auspices of Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai. [4] Originally named Xinjiang Eight-One Agriculture College (Chinese :新疆八一农学院), it was built on the site of a PLA 2nd Infantry Division School. It was renamed Xinjiang Agricultural University on 21 April 1995. [4]
Over the half century, XAU has developed into a multi-level and discipline institution that takes the undergraduate education as the basis with the coordinated development of doctor education, master education, international education, higher vocational education and continuing education.
The campus of Xinjiang Agricultural University covers an area of 1496 acres. It is quiet, beautiful and well known as a garden university since its greenery is so extensive.
In addition, it has two practice farms, called Sanping and South Mountain. The former covers 2,755,800 million square meters and the latter covers more than 4,600 square meters.
There are over 800 faculty and over 20,000 students at XAU. From 1986 to the present, more than 800 long- and short-term foreign students from 20 countries who have finished their study and graduated from XAU in the disciplines of Chinese language, Uygur language, Kazak language, animal husbandry and grassland, etc. Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region where XAU is located is a multi-ethnic area.

With a census population of 4 million in 2020, Ürümqi is the second-largest city in China's northwestern interior after Xi'an, as well as the largest in Central Asia in terms of population. The 7th Division is a division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) based in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture and Karamay City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. It is an economic and paramilitary unit formed in 1953 from the former 25th Infantry Division of the 9th Army of the 22nd Corps of the PLA. The 7th Agricultural Construction Division of the XPCC was approved and renamed to the present 7th Division of the XPCC in 2012. The division is composed of 10 regiments and a direct managed farm, and headquartered in Kuytun City.
Jigin Township is considered to be the westernmost township of China located in Ulugqat County (Wuqia), Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Her superiors, Li Zhi and Nur Bekri, both were sacked for graft in 2015 and 2019, respectively. Ren is the first senior official in Xinjiang and the fifth senior official in China to be targeted by China's top anticorruption watchdog in 2020. She is also the fifth female ministerial level official in China caught since Xi Jinping's continues an anti-graft dragnet at all levels of government, military and ruling Communist Party.

He previously served as chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from 2015 to 2018 and president of Higher People's Court of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from 2012 to 2015.
Hamudun Niyaz is a Chinese politician of Uyghur origin who served as chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region between 1985 and 2003. Prior to that, he served two separate terms as mayor of Ürümqi, from 1966 to 1967 and from 1973 to 1978.
