Brazilian legend Zico was appointed as the club's manager at the start of the season following the departure of Valery Gazzaev. Zico left the club in September, being replaced by Juande Ramos, [1] who only lasted 47 days before being replaced by Leonid Slutsky. [2] [3] [4]

The 2007–08 Russian Cup was the sixteenth season of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of Soviet Union. The competition started on 18 April 2007 and finished with the final held on 17 May 2008.

The 2008 Zenit St.Petersburg season was the club's fourteenth season in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Russia. The 2013–14 FC Terek Grozny season was the sixth successive season that Terek played in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of football in Russia. They finished the season in 12th place and reached the Quarter-finals of the Russian Cup where they were defeated by CSKA Moscow.

The 2008 Russian football season, saw CSKA Moscow competed in the Russian Premier League, finishing 2nd behind Rubin Kazan, and in Russian Cup. CSKA won the 2007/08 Russian Cup and progressed to the quarter-finals of the 2008-09 Cup by the end of the 2007 season.

The 2013–14 Amkar Perm season was their 10th season in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Russia, following promotion during the 2003 season. They were knocked out of the Russian Cup at the Round of 32 stage by Mordovia Saransk.

The 2013–14 FC Krylia Sovetov Samara season was the 20th, and final, successive season that Krylia Sovetov played in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of football in Russia. They finished the season in 14th place, going into a Relegation Play-off against FC Torpedo Moscow which they lost 0-2 on aggregate. They also reached the Fifth Round of the Russian Cup, going out on penalties to FC Sokol Saratov.

The 2015–16 Russian Cup, known as the 2015–16 Pirelli–Russian Football Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 24th season of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of Soviet Union.

The 2000–01 Russian Cup was the ninth season of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of Soviet Union.

The 2009 Terek Grozny season was the second successive season that the club played in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of football in Russia, in which they finished 12th. They also took part in the 2009–10 Russian Cup, reaching the Round of 32 where they were defeated by Mordovia Saransk.

The 2006–07 Russian Cup was the 15th edition of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of Soviet Union. The competition started on 13 April 2006 and finished on 27 May 2007, with the final played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, where Lokomotiv Moscow beat FC Moscow with 1–0 after extra time.

The 2008 FC Rubin Kazan season was the club's 6th season in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Russia. Rubin finished the league season as champions of Russia for the first time in club history and thereby qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever, entering at the group stage of the competition during the 2009–10 season.

The 2009 FC Rubin Kazan season was the club's 7th season in the Russian Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Russia.

The 2009 FC Moscow season was the club's 6th, and final season as a professional team. They finished the season in 6th place, reached the Semi-final of the 2008–09 Russian Cup and the Quarterfinal of the 2009–10 Russian Cup. Prior to the start of the 2010 Russian Premier League season, on 5 February 2010, FC Moscow announced that would not participate in the Russian Premier League with the club being officially excluded from the season on 17 February 2010.

The 2021–22 season was the 64th season in the existence of PFC Krylia Sovetov Samara and the club's 19th consecutive season in the top flight of Russian football. In addition to the domestic league, PFC Krylia Sovetov Samara are participating in this season's editions of the Russian Cup.
