The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition.
Saif Saaeed Shaheen, formerly Stephen Cherono, is a steeplechase runner. He was born in Keiyo, Kenya but now he represents Qatar. He currently holds the world record for 3000 metre steeplechase. He is a two time World Champion in the event. His older brother Abraham Cherono is also a steeplechase runner.

Kirui was a silver medallist in the steeplechase at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and a bronze medallist at the 2014 African Youth Games. He shared in a junior team silver at the 2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.
