The Bangladesh Premier League 2022, also known as BPL Season 8 or Bangabandhu BPL 2022 presented by BBS Cables and powered by Walton (for sponsorship reasons), was the eighth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). [1] The season was scheduled to start from March 2021. [2] However, the tournament was postponed and rescheduled to be held from 21 January to 18 February 2022. [3] [4]
A franchise from Barisal was announced as taking part since Barisal Bulls played in 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League. [5] Comilla Victorians returned after the hiatus of one season. [6] On 12 December 2021, all six teams were announced, with the exclusion of Rangpur Rangers and the defending champion Rajshahi Royals. [7]
In the final match, Comilla Victorians defeated Fortune Barishal by 1 run to win their third BPL title. Comilla Victorians' bowling Alrounder Sunil Narine won Player of the match for his all-round performances and Fortune Barishal captain Shakib Al Hasan won Player of the Tournament award for his all-round performances. [8] Will Jacks was the leading run scorer in the tournament with 414 runs while Mustafizur Rahman was the leading wicket-taker with 19 wickets.

The 2010 National Cricket League Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh, abbreviated as NCL 2010 or the NCL T20 2010 or or Destiny Group NCL T20 2009-10, played in April 2010, this was first edition of a Twenty20 league involving the teams in the National Cricket League (NCL). The tournament was initiated by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). It included six teams representing the divisions of Bangladesh. It was a limited success and has effectively been replaced by the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The tournament was won by the Rajshahi Rangers who defeated the Kings of Khulna by 6 wickets in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, the winning team's Qaiser Abbas being named "Man of the Match".

Comilla Victorians is a Bangladeshi professional men's cricket team which competed in the Bangladesh Premier League, a T-20 cricket league. The team is based in Cumilla, a city in eastern Bangladesh. Comilla Victorians won the BPL title 4 times. The team is currently owned by Nafisa Kamal, the daughter of AHM Mustafa Kamal, the former Minister of Finance under the Sheikh Hasina government.

However, after the first four matches of the tournament were abandoned due to rain and with more rain forecast, the league opted to restart on 8 November and to replay all of the opening six matches.

The season was scheduled to originally start from 6 December 2019 and end on 11 January 2020, with the opening ceremony to be held on 3 December 2019. Comilla Victorians were the defending champions. However, the tournament was delayed by five days and started on 11 December 2019 and ended on 17 January 2020, with the opening ceremony held on 8 December 2019.
The 2020–21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup was a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was played by five teams, during November and December 2020. In November 2020, more than 100 players began to undertake fitness tests, ahead of a players' draft for the tournament. The players' draft took place on 12 November 2020, with the tournament starting in the third week of November. Two days later, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the full schedule for the tournament.

The 2021–22 National Cricket League was the twenty-third edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition that was scheduled to be held in Bangladesh from 15 October to 25 November 2021. In March 2021, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the domestic cricket schedule from 2021 to 2023 and confirmed that the 23rd NCL would be held in October 2021. Comilla Victorians won the final by 1 run to win their third BPL title.
The Bangladesh Premier League 2023, also known as BPL Season 9 or Ispahani BPL 2023 Powered by Minister Group was the ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). In July 2022, after the International Cricket Council accommodated the month of January and February for this league in its Future Tours Programme, the BCB announced the schedule of the BPL for the next three seasons. Accordingly, the ninth season was scheduled to be held from 5 January to 16 February in 2023. BCB also decided to increase the number of teams to 7 and to sell the franchise rights for 3 years from this season.

In September 2022, the BPL Governing Council announced the seven franchises which took part in the tournament. Comilla Victorians were the defending champions.

The tournament began on 30 December 2024 and will end on 7 February 2025.
The 2024 season is the 8th and the last season so far for the Bangladesh Premier League franchise Comilla Victorians. They were one of the seven teams participated in the 2024 Bangladesh Premier League. They were the defending champions, having won their 4th BPL title after defeating Sylhet Strikers in the 2023 Bangladesh Premier League final.
The 2025 season is the 11th season so far for the Bangladesh Premier League franchise Chittagong Kings. They are one of the two new teams going to participate in the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League changing their name from Chattogram Challengers to Chittagong Kings. They are yet to win the title. Their best performance is reaching the final and being runners up in 2013 season.
The 2025 season will be the seventh season for the Bangladesh Premier League franchise, Durbar Rajshahi. They last participated in the 2019-20 season as Rajshahi Royals and became the champion beating Khulna Tigers in the final. In 2024, the team was acquired by Valentine Group and named the team Durbar Rajshahi, following the exit of Comilla Victorians in 2025 Bangladesh Premier League.
