On November 10, Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti suspended Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh from game-day coaching for the remainder of the regular season as punishment for the Michigan Wolverines football sign-stealing scandal. [6] Michigan filed an application for temporary restraining order {TRO), challenging the suspesion. The court set the matter for a hearing on November 17, one day before Michigan faces Maryland. [7]
