The 2024 Los Angeles Angels season was the 64th season of the Los Angeles Angels franchise in the American League, the 59th in Anaheim, and their 59th season playing their home games at Angel Stadium.
On July 21, the Angels beat the Oakland Athletics to win their 5,000th game as a franchise, which is the first for an expansion team. [1] On September 11, the Angels were eliminated from postseason contention for the tenth straight year. [2]
On September 22, the Angels beat the Houston Astros 9-8, winning their 63rd game of the season. They remain the only team in the MLB to have never lost 100 games. On September 26, the Angels lost 7-0 to the Chicago White Sox for their 96th loss of the season, surpassing their previous worst 1968 season. The Angels ultimately finished the season 63–99, and finished in last place in the American League West for the first time since 1999.
With the Detroit Tigers clinching a playoff berth on September 27, 2024, the Angels currently hold the longest active playoff drought in Major League Baseball at 10 consecutive seasons without a playoff berth.

The 2007 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim season was the franchise's 47th season since inception. The regular season ended with a record of 94–68 and the Angels winning the American League West title for the sixth time. However, the Angels' playoff run quickly ended, as they were swept by the Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series, just as they were in 2004.
The 2006 Los Angeles Angels season was the 46th season of the Los Angeles Angels franchise in the American League, the 41st in Anaheim, and their 41st season playing their home games at Angel Stadium. It began with the team trying to win their third consecutive American League West title. However, they came up short, finishing in second place with a record of 89–73. But the biggest story of the year was longtime Angels mainstay Tim Salmon playing his final season. Towards the end of the season, not only were the fans excited with trying to get into the playoffs in the final month of the season, but they were excited about Salmon trying to hit his 300th home run. Eventually, he ended with 299, one short of the milestone.
The 2002 Anaheim Angels season was the franchise's 42nd, and it ended with the team's first American League pennant and World Series championship.
The Arizona Diamondbacks' 2011 season, the franchise's 14th season in Major League Baseball, included the team's first National League West championship since 2007, subsequently, their fifth division title since coming into MLB. They lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in five games in the NLDS.

The 2015 Texas Rangers season was the Rangers' 55th season of the franchise and the 44th since the team relocated to Arlington, Texas. After a disastrous 2014 season in which the Rangers finished last in the entire American League and third worst in all of Major League Baseball (MLB), and despite starting the season with an 8–16 record and being under .500 as late as August 13, the Rangers would clinch the American League West title on the final day of the season. It was the team's sixth division title and seventh postseason appearance in franchise history. They lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in five games in the ALDS, even after taking a 2-1 lead. First year manager Jeff Banister was named the AL Manager of the Year.
The 2017 Minnesota Twins season was the 57th season for the Minnesota Twins franchise in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, their eighth season at Target Field and the 117th overall in the American League. The Twins began the season on April 3 at home against the Kansas City Royals and finished the year on October 1 at home against the Detroit Tigers.
The 2017 Cincinnati Reds season was the 148th season for the franchise in Major League Baseball, and their 15th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The Reds opened the season with a game against the Philadelphia Phillies on April 3 at the Great American Ball Park and finished the season on October 1 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The 2021 Baltimore Orioles season was the 121st season in Baltimore Orioles franchise history, the 68th in Baltimore, and the 30th at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. They significantly failed at attempting to improve on their 25–35 (.417) record from the previous year. The Orioles endured two different losing streaks of 14 or more between the middle and the end of May, as well as between August 3 and August 24. The Orioles pitching staff combined for a franchise-worst ERA of 5.84 and yielded 911 earned runs in the season, which led MLB and was the most earned runs surrendered by a pitching staff since the 2001 Texas Rangers allowed 913 earned runs. Seattle is the only current Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise without a World Series appearance. Despite posting a 90–72 record, their best since the 2003 season, the Mariners were eliminated from postseason contention for the 20th consecutive season after Boston swept the Washington Nationals to clinch the wild card berth and the Yankees clinched the remaining wild card spot on the last day of the season.
