From July 2 to 6, 2024, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 2024 SCO summit in Astana [1] and pay state visits to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan. [2] [3] [4]
At noon on July 2, President Xi Jinping arrived in Astana to attend the 24th meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states and pay a state visit to Kazakhstan. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev led his government's First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, Presidential Advisor for Foreign Affairs Kazihan, Äkim of Astana Jenis Qasymbek and other senior officials to greet President Xi. On the morning of July 3, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Tokayev at the Presidential Palace in Astana. After the talks, the two heads of state signed the Joint Declaration of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan (Chinese :《中华人民共和国和哈萨克斯坦共和国联合声明》) [7] and witnessed the exchange of dozens of bilateral cooperation documents in the fields of economy and trade, connectivity, aerospace, education and media. At noon on the same day, President Xi attended a welcome banquet hosted by President Tokayev. [8]
At noon on July 3, President Xi and President Tokayev attended the opening ceremony of the China-Europe Trans-Caspian Express by video at the Presidential Palace in Astana. [9] This is the first time that a Chinese vehicle arrived at a Caspian Sea coastal port by direct road transportation. [10] [11]
On the afternoon of July 4, President Xi Jinping met with President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, [12] President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, [13] President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan [14] (and signing of the joint statement on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries), [15] [16] [17] [18] President Vladimir Putin of Russia, [19] United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, [20] President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, [21] President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan [22] in Astana on the sidelines of the 2024 SCO summit. [23]
On the evening of July 4, President Xi arrived in Dushanbe for a state visit to Tajikistan. President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan led the Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, Foreign Minister Muhreddin and other senior officials to meet him. Rahmon held a grand welcome ceremony for Xi at the airport. [24] [25] [26]
On the afternoon of July 5, President Xi and President Rahmon attended the inauguration ceremony of the Chinese-aided parliament building and government building in Dushanbe. [27] [28] The China-aided Tajikistan Parliament Building and Government Building project is the first time that China adopts the joint design mode in foreign aid projects, and adopts Tajikistan's architectural style and China's construction technology, which is an important achievement of the "Belt and Road Initiative" jointly constructed by the two countries. On the afternoon of July 5, President Xi and President Rahmon met with journalists after talks at the Presidential Palace in Dushanbe. [31] The two countries signed a joint statement announcing the establishment of a new era of China-Tajikistan comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership (Chinese :《中华人民共和国和塔吉克斯坦共和国关于发展新时代全面战略合作伙伴关系的联合声明》), [32] [33] [34] and unanimously decided to work together from a higher starting point to build a China-Tajikistan community of destiny that will be friendly, mutually beneficial and win-win for generations. [35] The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will provide Tajikistan with a soft loan of $500 million for the construction of the Rogun hydropower plant. [36] President Xi Jinping also presented the Order of Friendship to President Rahmon at the Presidential Palace in Dushanbe. [37]
On the afternoon of July 6, President Xi returned to Beijing after his state visit. [38] [39]
China–Kazakhstan relations refer to the relations between historical China and the Kazakhs up to the modern relations between the PRC and Kazakhstan. Ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, political, cultural, and economic ties have developed between the two. The Chinese Communist Party and Kazakhstan's Amanat have good ties. China has said that it values exchanges between the two parties and hopes to strengthen ties and cooperation even further.

The 2023 France–China summit was a three-day state visit by Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, to China from April 5 to 7, 2023. He also met with Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and President of China, and Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, to discuss various issues. By recalling the solid foundation of China-France relations and the friendship between the two peoples, the two heads of state had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, China-EU relations and major international and regional issues, especially the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and China's potential role as a mediator between Russia and the West. The visit was seen as an attempt to "reconnect" with China after three years of its zero-Covid policy and despite Beijing's increasing benevolence to Russia in the context of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
The 2023 Brazil–China summit was a four-day state visit by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the President of Brazil, to China from 11 to 14 April 2023. It was Lula's first visit to China since his third taking office in January 2023. He was accompanied by a delegation of more than 240 CEOs, politicians and government officials and met with the Brazilian business community in China. He also met with Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and President of China, to discuss various issues, especially the ongoing war in Ukraine and Brazil–China's potential roles as a mediators between Russia and the West.
China-Central Asia Summit is a diplomatic summit held by the leaders of the People's Republic of China and the five Central Asian countries. The first China-Central Asia Summit was held at the Xi'an International Conference Center in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province from May 18 to 19, 2023. Xi Jinping, the paramount leader of China, presided over the summit, and the heads of state of the five Central Asian countries attended the summit.

President of Peru Dina Boluarte pays a state visit to China to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during June 25, 2024 to June 29, 2024. The visit resulted in the signing of a number of China-Peru cooperation agreements, and the two sides expect China to bring more new technologies into Peru and make the cooperation between China and Peru a model of China-Latin America cooperation.

At the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the United Republic of Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete, President of the Republic of South Africa Jacob Zuma and President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso, the President of China Xi Jinping left Beijing on the morning of March 22 to pay a state visit to these four countries and attend the 5th BRICS summit held in Durban, South Africa. The trip is also Xi's first foreign state visit since he became the President of China.
