The season was a mixed campaign for the team, who finished 5th in the points table with 15 points from 14 matches. Despite showing strong performances and staying in the playoff race until the final stages, they narrowly missed out on qualification. Their season featured several close contests and standout individual efforts, but inconsistency at crucial moments cost them a spot in the top four.

Delhi began their campaign with a promising performance, registering a tense one-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants. [26] Chasing 168, the Capitals were struggling at one stage, but Ashutosh Sharma's calm 66* off 31 balls steered them to victory in the final over, setting the tone for a season full of close finishes and fluctuating fortunes. Despite this dramatic start, Delhi's campaign was marked by inconsistency. KL Rahul, returning to the side, anchored the batting lineup with 539 runs over the season, emerging as the top scorer for the franchise. However, the top-order failed to click consistently around him, with frequent collapses putting pressure on the middle and lower order. One of the highlights of their season was a clinical six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, where their bowling attack, led by Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Starc, dismantled CSK's batting order. The Capitals also secured a memorable win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, showcasing their potential to outperform top teams. However, Delhi's hopes for a playoff berth were dashed after a crucial loss to Mumbai Indians.
