Gay bashing and gay bullying is an attack,abuse,or assault committed against a person who is perceived by the aggressor to be gay,lesbian,bisexual,or transgender. The attack may be physical or verbal. This can also include abuse,bullying or assaults perpetrated against a heterosexual person whom the attacker perceives to be LGBT.

He represents the College Ward covering part of Nepean and Ottawa's west end. Glen Cairn is a neighbourhood in Kanata South Ward in the west end of Ottawa,Ontario,Canada. It is also the name of a public school in the area. Prior to amalgamation in 2001,it was located in the City of Kanata. It is located in South Kanata,about 22 km (14 mi) west of Downtown Ottawa. It was one of the original neighbourhoods in Kanata. The community was built in the 1960s,and was part of Goulbourn Township until the creation of Kanata in 1978. As of the Canada 2016 Census,there were 11,836 people living in Glen Cairn.

Karen A. McCrimmon is a Canadian Forces veteran,mediator,and politician who was elected Member of Parliament for Kanata—Carleton in the 2015 Canadian federal election. After a 31-year military career,McCrimmon retired as a lieutenant colonel. She was the first female navigator and the first woman to command a Canadian Forces air force squadron. She became involved in federal politics with the Liberal Party of Canada in 2008. In 2011,McCrimmon was the Liberal candidate for the federal election in the Carleton—Mississippi Mills riding and,in 2013,she unsuccessfully bid for the Liberal leadership. In August 2021,she announced that she would retire from politics and did not seek re-election.
