As of the 2001 India census [update] , Ananthavoor had a population of 17,470 with 8,100 males and 9,370 females. [1] The village was a part of the Kingdom of Tanur (Vettattnad) in medieval times.
Anantavur village is a predominantly Muslim populated area. Hindus are exist in comparatively smaller numbers. So the culture of the locality is based upon Muslim traditions.
