Anglican Diocese of Etsako

The Anglican Diocese of Etsako [1] was created and inaugurated on 14 March 2007 and is one of 13 dioceses within the Anglican Province of Bendel, itself one of 14 provinces within the Church of Nigeria. [2] The pioneer bishop was Rt. Rev. Jacob O.B. Bada. [3]

Felix Unuokhe Olorunfemi was elected to replace Bishop Bada. Rt. Rev. Felix U. Olorunfemi was born on Wednesday 8 June 1966. He was educated at Bendel State University and the Ezekiel College of Theology, Ekpoma. He has served in Igbodo, Ekwuoma, Erumu and was Archdeacon of Agbor before becoming the bishop of the Diocese of Etsako. The cathedral of the diocese is All Saints' Cathedral, located at Auchi, while the Bishop's Court is at Jattu, which is a neighboring town to Auchi. [4]

The Bendel Province is one of the fourteen ecclesiastical provinces of the Church of Nigeria. It comprises thirteen dioceses, each one headed by a bishop and it was created in 2002, when the current division into provinces was adopted. His headquarters are located in Asaba. The first Archbishop of the Bendel Province was Albert Agbaje, who died in 2005. He was succeeded by Nicholas Okoh, latter replaced upon his election as Primate of Nigeria by Friday John Imaekhai in 2010. In 2020 Cyril Odutemu became Archbishop of Bendel.

The Anglican Diocese of Isiala-Ngwa South is one of nine within the Anglican Province of Aba, itself one of 14 provinces within the Church of Nigeria: founded in 2007, the current bishop is the Rt Rev. Isaac Nwaobia.
