The Audi e-tron GT is a battery electric executive car produced by Audi since late 2020 as part of the e-tron battery electric sub-brand, and the third fully electric car model, after Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback SUVs. It is also Audi's first full-sized electric sedan, and the RS e-tron GT, put on the market in 2021 is, in terms of 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) times, the fastest Audi sedan to date. [3] Based on the J1 platform shared with the Porsche Taycan, the car went on sale in March 2021. [4]
The Audi e-tron GT concept prototype was unveiled in November 2018 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, [5] [6] followed in 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show. [7]
In November 2020, Audi released photographs of what was basically the production model, in a characteristic black and gray veneer with orange accents and overlays on the alloy wheels. [8] The production Audi e-tron GT extensively recreated the design of the concept car, with muscular wheel arches, aggressively styled headlights, and a large hexagonal radiator grille imitation. The gently sloping roofline ends with one-piece taillights connected by a luminous strip. [9] Unlike the concept, the production car has visible door handles.
The car shares technical components with the related Porsche Taycan. [10] 40 percent of its parts are identical to those used in the Taycan, [11] and the cars share the same platform. Just like the Taycan, it is a 4-door sedan despite the sporty coupé-style silhouette. [12] [13]
The vehicle was unveiled in 2021 IAA motor show. [14]
Pre-order of European models began in mid-February 2021, and went on sale on 3 May 2021. [15]
The fully electric driveline of the Audi e-tron GT is powered by an 84 kWh battery net capacity, (93.4 kWh gross) [2] with two electric motors providing all-wheel drive. The vehicle accelerates from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, reaches a top speed of 245 km/h (152 mph) and has a maximum sustained power output of 350 kW (469 hp), which can be temporarily boosted to 390 kW (523 hp). The official EPA range of the vehicle on a single charge is 383 km (238 mi). In tests performed by the automotive website Edmunds, the car surpassed its EPA rating, achieving 439 km (273 mi). [18]
The 93,4 kWh battery charges up to 100% in 450 minutes (AC 3-phase wall box/charging station 11.0 kW) and 80% in 29 minutes (DC charging station 135.0 kW). [19]
Audi has also introduced a more sporty RS version which accelerates from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3.3 seconds, reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) and has a power output of 440 kW (590 hp) that is temporarily raised to 475 kW (637 hp) when boost mode is selected. [2]
Unveiled in March 2023, the Audi RS E-tron GT Project_513/2 is a special edition for the US market limited to 75 units, [20] with its design taking inspiration from a prototype and featuring red accents and an e-tron camouflage script. [21]
Preparation of production at Böllinger Höfe plant started in 2019, [22] and started in December 2020. [23] Unlike the e-tron and e-tron Sportback models manufactured in Belgium, it is the first Audi electric car to be produced in Audi's home country Germany, at the Heilbronn plant. [24] Audi officially unveiled the production e-tron GT on 9 February 2021 with sales started in March 2021. [25]
In December 2022, Bloomberg suggested the e-tron GT as good option for those consumers upset by Elon Musk's behavior who would instead consider the Model S by Tesla. [26]
Audi e-tron GT won 2021 Goldenes Lenkrad (Golden Steering Wheel) awards under the Most Beautiful Car of the Year category. [27]
In the 2019 superhero film Avengers: Endgame , Tony Stark drove a black Audi e-tron GT. At the time of filming, the car was still a concept and Marvel Studios commissioned Audi to manufacture a prototype specifically for the film. For this prototype, Audi developed a digitally-generated sound for the car, as the filmmakers requested that the car needed to make a sound to support the drama of the scene it appeared in. Robert Downey Jr., who plays Tony Stark, also drove the prototype to the film's premiere.
As part of Audi's sponsorship of Spider-Man: Far From Home , the Audi e-tron GT concept appeared in a short film titled 'Science Fair', where Peter Parker (Tom Holland) tried to save his school science fair presentation with the help of an Audi e-tron GT concept. [28]
As part of the Audi e-Tron GT launch in Hong Kong, Ian Chan of Mirror became an e-tron brand representative in Hong Kong, [29] and the first Hong Kong artist to own an Audi e-Tron GT. [30]
As part of the general Audi e-Tron GT launch, fashion designer Stella McCartney, actor and producer Tom Hardy, and singer Janelle Monáe became product representatives. The slogan 'Future is an Attitude' was also used in the campaign. [31] [32] [33]
As part of the Audi RS e-tron GT launch in China, Audi Channel is presenting a movie-level live broadcast, and is jointly presented by Audi Yingjie Electric Power Pioneer and Audi e-tron GT Global Ambassador Nicholas Tse, Audi Yingjie Speedy Pioneer Han Han, and Sustainable Development Entrepreneur and F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg. The Audi A6 is an executive car manufactured by the German company Audi since 1994. Now in its fifth generation, the successor to the Audi 100 is manufactured in Neckarsulm, Germany, and is available in saloon and estate configurations, the latter marketed by Audi as the Avant. Audi's internal numbering treats the A6 as a continuation of the Audi 100 lineage, with the initial A6 designated as a member of the C4-series, followed by the C5, C6, C7, and the C8. The related Audi A7 is essentially a Sportback (liftback) version of the C7-series and C8-series A6 but is marketed under its own separate identity and model designation.

The Nardò Ring, originally known as Pista di prova di Nardò della Fiat when it was built in 1975, is a high speed test track located at more than 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-west of the town of Nardò, Italy, in the southern region of Apulia, in the Province of Lecce. It was acquired by Porsche Engineering in 2012 from its former owners, Prototipo SpA. Porsche now calls the site Nardò Technical Center.
The Audi Q3 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV made by Audi. The Q3 has a transverse-mounted front engine, and entered production in 2011.
The Audi A1 is a luxury supermini car launched by Audi at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Sales of the initial three-door A1 model started in Germany in August 2010, with the United Kingdom following in November 2010. A five-door version, called Sportback, was launched in November 2011, with sales starting in export markets during spring 2012. The second generation was released in 2019. The three-door production model was discontinued in 2018 along with the first generation.
The Audi e-tron is a series of electric and hybrid cars shown by Audi from 2009 onwards. In 2012 Audi unveiled a plug-in hybrid version, the A3 Sportback e-tron, released to retail customers in Europe in August 2014, and slated for the U.S. in 2015. A decade after the unveiling of the first e-tron concept at the 2009 International Motor Show Germany, Audi's first fully electric e-tron SUV went into production in 2019.
Audi hybrid vehicles are hybrid electric vehicles created by the German carmaker, Audi. Some vehicles listed were concept vehicles, which utilised an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, and were used for research and development (R&D) for potential future use of the technology into possible series production. Audi launched its first hybrid concept car in 1989 called the Audi Duo, and was the first European company to sell a hybrid in 1997, though only in very small numbers.
The Audi A7 is an executive five-door liftback produced by Audi since 2010. The coupé variant of the Audi A6 saloon/estate, the Audi A7 features a sloping roofline with a steeply raked rear window and integrated boot lid, and four frameless doors. A sport version called the S7 has been made since 2012, and a high-performance model called the RS7 has been in production since 2013. An extended-wheelbase three-box, four-door saloon derivative called the A7L has been produced in China since 2021.
The Porsche Taycan is a battery electric luxury sports sedan and shooting brake car produced by German automobile manufacturer Porsche. The concept version of the Taycan named the Porsche Mission E, debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Four years later, the production Taycan was revealed at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. As Porsche's first series production electric car, it is sold in several variants at different performance levels, and may spawn further derivatives in future models. It is built on the J1 electric car platform shared with the similarly shaped Audi e-tron GT.
The Audi A7 h-tron quattro is a concept hydrogen/electric plug-in hybrid automobile, released by Audi AG in the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The A7 h-tron quattro keeps the same recognizable features of the other A7 variants, but typically has "A7 h-tron" decals.
The Audi Q8 e-tron is a battery electric mid-size luxury crossover produced by Audi since 2019. The e-tron was unveiled as a concept car at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The final production version was revealed in San Francisco on 17 September 2018, publicly debuted at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, and was first delivered in May 2019. It is the company's first battery electric mass production car. The Sportback variant, a coupe style of the e-tron, entered production in 2020.
The Audi R8 is the first generation of the R8 sports car developed and manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Audi. Conceived in 2003 in concept form, the R8 was put into production in June 2006. The Type 42 is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and shares its chassis and engine. Audi's parent company Volkswagen Group owns Lamborghini as well and components of both of the cars were shared mainly to save development costs. Production of the Type 42 ended in August 2015, following the introduction of the Type 4S at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show which was based on an entirely new platform.
The Audi R8 is the second generation of the R8 sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Audi. The Type 4S is based on the Lamborghini Huracán and shares its platform and engine. The Type 4S was introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and its production began in late 2015.
The Audi Q4 e-tron is a battery electric compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Audi. It is based on Volkswagen Group's electric MEB platform and is the fourth fully-electric model in the Audi e-tron series after the Audi Q8 e-tron, e-tron GT and Q2L e-tron. Production began in March 2021, with the production version being unveiled in April 2021.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E (CX727) is a battery electric compact crossover SUV produced by Ford. Introduced on November 17, 2019, it went on sale in December 2020 as a 2021 model. The Mach-E is part of the Mustang series, with its name inspired by the Mach 1 variant of the first-generation Mustang. The car won the 2021 North American SUV of the Year Award.
The Audi RS Q e-tron is an off-road competition car, built by Audi under the e-tron battery electric sub-brand. Unveiled in 2021, it is specially designed for competing in rally raids. An upgraded model, dubbed the Audi RS Q e-tron E2, debuted in 2022. A slightly updated version of the vehicle won the 2024 Dakar Rally.
