The DRDO Sarvatra (Everywhere) [1] also known as Sarvatra Multi-span Mobile Bridge System is a truck-mounted, multi-span, mobile bridging system developed by Armament and Combat Engineering Systems (ACE) and Research and Development Establishment (R&DE) Engineers of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) [2] for the Indian army. Its production public company is Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), Bangalore.
The Sarvatra is a 75-meter, multi-span, mobile bridging system consisting of five scissor bridges made of aluminum alloy with a span of 15 meters, each mounted on a separate mobile platform. Each mobile platform is a modified Tatra T-815 VVN 8 x 8 chassis, drivable from both ends from a small cabin with required driving controls. Further, a microprocessor based control system is utilised to deploy and operationalise the system in less than 2.5 hours.
When the scissors bridge is opened, it is fitted with adjustable trestles to enable multiple units to be used to bridge wet and dry gaps. Five sections provide a total bridge length of 75 m, and four meters in width. The bridge is launched/recovered from either end. With the help of telescopic legs, the height of the bridge can be adjusted from 2.5 m to 6 m to reduce visibility.
The Sarvatra project was sanctioned in 1994 and completed development in October 1999 at a total cost of ₹230,000,000. It was approved for production in March 2000 after trials. The Sarvatra was to replace the East European PMS Bridges in the Indian army, which requires 57 Tatra vehicles to bridge 100 meters. In contrast, the Sarvatra, with just five sections, bridges 75 meters. At ₹600,000,000 per set, the PMS costs almost three times as much as a Sarvatra.
A 20 m variant of Sarvatra bridge system capable of bridging a gap of 100 meters has also been developed.
The Arjun is a third generation main battle tank developed by the Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), for the Indian Army. The tank is named after Arjuna, the archer prince who is the main protagonist of the Indian epic poem Mahabharata. Design work began in 1986 and was finished in 1996. The Arjun main battle tank entered service with the Indian Army in 2004. The 43rd Armoured Regiment, formed in 2009, was the first regiment to receive the Arjun.
Pinaka is a multiple rocket launcher produced in India and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the Indian Army. The system has a maximum range of 40 km for Mark-I and 60 km for Mark-I enhanced version, and can fire a salvo of 12 HE rockets in 44 seconds. The system is mounted on a Tatra truck for mobility. Pinaka saw service during the Kargil War, where it was successful in neutralising Pakistani positions on the mountain tops. It has since been inducted into the Indian Army in large numbers.
Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF) is an armored vehicle and battle tank manufacturing factory located at Avadi in Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is managed by Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVANI) of Ministry of Defence, Government of India. HVF was set up in 1961 by the Ordnance Factory Board to manufacture heavy battlefield equipment and was later made part of AVANI during the re-organization in 2021. The factory is powered by a 16 MW solar power plant, spread over 80 acres (32 ha), commissioned in 2018 and installed by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) at a cost of ₹1,050 million (US$13 million). The plant helps reduce carbon dioxide emissions to the extent of 26,000 tonnes per annum, saving ₹45 million (US$560,000) annually. Products of HVF include Vijayanta, Kartik BLT, M-46 Catapult and T-72 Ajeya, Arjun MBT and T-90 Bhishma tanks.
BEML Limited, formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited, is an Indian public sector undertaking which manufactures a variety of heavy equipment, such as that used for earth moving, railways, transport and mining. It is headquartered in Bangalore. BEML is Asia's second-largest manufacturer of earth moving equipment. Its stock trades on the National Stock Exchange of India under the symbol "BEML", and on the Bombay Stock Exchange under the code "500048".
An armoured vehicle-launched bridge (AVLB) is a combat support vehicle, sometimes regarded as a subtype of military engineering vehicle, designed to assist militaries in rapidly deploying tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles across gap-type obstacles, such as rivers. The AVLB is usually a tracked vehicle converted from a tank chassis to carry a folding metal bridge instead of weapons. The AVLB's job is to allow armoured or infantry units to cross craters, anti-tank ditches, blown bridges, railroad cuts, canals, rivers and ravines, when a river too deep for vehicles to wade through is reached, and no bridge is conveniently located, or sufficiently sturdy, a substantial concern when moving 60-ton tanks.

The Low Flying Detection Radar also called Indian Doppler Radar (INDRA) series of 2D radars were developed by Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the Army and the Air Force.
