Dongsheng District (Mongolian:ᠳ᠋ᠦᠩᠱᠧᠩᠲᠣᠭᠣᠷᠢᠭ;Chinese :东胜区;alternate spelling English:Koshang;Turkic:Košang) is a District and the seat of Ordos City,Inner Mongolia,China. It has a district population of 574,242. The district is predominantly Han Chinese,but has a significant Mongol minority.
Dongsheng is also the fastest growing district of Ordos City,half of the district being under construction. To enable further expansion,officials in 2003 planned the nearby district of Kangbashi,a brand new (city) 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Dongsheng.
Dongsheng District is made up of 12 subdistricts and 3 towns.

Ordos's prefectural administrative region occupies 86,752 square kilometres (33,495 sq mi) and covers the bigger part of the Ordos Desert,although the urban area itself is relatively small. The region borders the prefectures of Hohhot to the east,Baotou to the northeast,Bayan Nur to the north,Alxa League to the northwest,Wuhai to the west,the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to its southwest,and the provinces of Shaanxi and Shanxi to the south.

Ulanqab or Ulan Chab is a region administered as a prefecture-level city in south-central Inner Mongolia,China. Its administrative centre is in Jining District,which was formerly a county-level city. It was established as a prefecture-level city on 1 December 2003,formed from the former Ulanqab League.
Shizuishan,formerly Shizuizi,is a prefecture-level city in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is the northernmost prefecture in Ningxia and the second most populous,after the regional capital Yinchuan,bordered by Inner Mongolia to all directions except the south. Shizuishan sits on the western bank of the Yellow River on the western side of the Ordos Loop. It was formerly a center for caravans traveling the northern routes to and from Beijing across the Ordos Desert.
Tongliao is a prefecture-level city in eastern Inner Mongolia,People's Republic of China. The area is 59,535 square kilometres (22,987 sq mi) and as of the 2020 census,its population was 2,873,168. However,the city proper made of Horqin district,had 921,808 inhabitants. The city was the administrative centre of the defunct Jirem League.
Ordos,also known as Ih Ju,is one of the twelve major subdivisions of Inner Mongolia,China. It lies within the Ordos Plateau of the Yellow River. Although mainly rural,Ordos is administered as a prefecture-level city. Its population was 2,153,638 as of the 2020 census,and its built-up area made up of Ejin Horo Banner and Kangbashi District was home to 366,779 inhabitants,as Dongsheng District is not a conurbation yet.
Manzhouli is a sub-prefectural city located in Hulunbuir prefecture-level city,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China. Located on the border with Russia,it is a major land port of entry. It has an area of 696.3 square kilometres (268.8 sq mi) and a population of almost 250,000.
Bayannur or Bayannao'er is a prefecture-level city in western Inner Mongolia,People's Republic of China. Until 1 December 2003,the area was called Bayannur League.
Alxa League or Alashan League is one of 12 prefecture level divisions and 3 extant leagues of Inner Mongolia. The league borders Mongolia to the north,Bayan Nur to the northeast,Wuhai and Ordos to the east,Ningxia to the southeast,and Gansu to the south and west. The capital is Bayanhot Town,formerly known as Dingyuanying (定远营镇) or Wang Ye Fu,in the aimag's Left Banner. The Mongolian variety spoken in this area is the Alasha dialect.
The Ejin Horo Banner,also known as Ejin Horo Qi or Yijinhuoluo County,is a banner in Ordos City in southwestern Inner Mongolia,China. It borders Shaanxi Province to the southeast. As of 2009,the Ejin Horo Banner covers an area of almost 5,600 square kilometres (2,200 sq mi),with a population of nearly 160,000,the majority of whom are ethnically Han Chinese.
Shangdu County is a county of south-central Inner Mongolia,China. It is under the administration of Ulanqab City and has an area of 4,353 square kilometres (1,681 sq mi),and in 2020 had about 173,000 inhabitants.
Urad Front Banner is a banner of Inner Mongolia,China. It is located in the west of the region,situated on the northern (left) bank of the Yellow River,on the Ordos Loop,and in between the cities of Bayan Nur and Baotou. Administratively,it is part of Bayan Nur City,and has a total area of 7,476 square kilometres (2,886 sq mi) and in 2020 had 257,826 inhabitants.
Urad Rear Banner or Urad Houqi is a banner of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,People's Republic of China. It is located in the west of the region,44 kilometres (27 mi) northwest of the city of Bayan Nur,which administers this banner,and borders the Republic of Mongolia's Ömnögovi Province to the north. The banner has a total area of 24,925 km2 (9,624 sq mi) and in 2020 had a population of 53,946. It is located in the prefectural-level municipality of Bayannur city. The capital is moved to the town of Bayinbaolige (巴音宝力格镇). This Banner division is also home to the Upper Cretaceous Bayan Mandahu Formation.
