Equitana

Equitana is a trade fair organization for equestrian sports. This bi-annual trade fair first opened in 1972 in Essen, Germany, and holds events in Germany, the United States, and Australia.

Australia

Equitana expos have been held biennially in Melbourne since 1999, attracting more than 50,000 visitors per event. In 2004, the event won a Victorian Tourism Award in the Major Event or Festival category. [1]

The event has also been held in Brisbane in 2002 and since 2011 has been held biennially at the Sydney Showgrounds, alternating each year with the Melbourne Showgrounds. [2] [3] Definitive Events have been running Equitana Australia since 1999. [4] In 2014, Equitana returned to the biannual format. In 2016, Equitana will be held at Melbourne Showgrounds from 17 to 20 November. 2018 saw it being held at Sydney. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 Equitana to go on hiatus until July 2021, when it returns to Melbourne.

Germany

The 2009 fair was held on 14–21 March at Essen fairground. [5] More than 850 exhibitors from 30 countries registered for the trade fair, which was visited by 213,000 visitors from Germany and around the world. Equitana is one of Germany's most visited trade fairs. [6]

On 31 March 2010, it was announced that Equitana had entered into a ten-year contract to ensure that Essen which will remain the “horse world’s trade fair capital“ for another five events until the year 2019. [6] The 2011, Equitana took place on 12–20 March 2011. In 2010, Equitana will host a festival of equestrian sports, and in 2013 the Equestrian Sports World Fair will return to Germany. [7]

United States

There is also an Equitana USA, a similar trade fair that was once held in Louisville, Kentucky. [8] As of October 2021 it will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. Over 200 domestic and international exhibitors are scheduled for the 2021 event. [9]

Freedom Hall Arena in Kentucky, United States

Freedom Hall is a multi-purpose arena in Louisville, Kentucky, on the grounds of the Kentucky Exposition Center, which is owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It is best known for its use as a basketball arena, previously serving as the home of the University of Louisville Cardinals and, since November 2020, as the home of the Bellarmine University Knights. It has hosted Kiss, ACDC, WWE Events, Mötley Crüe, Elvis Presley, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Creed, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and many more. As well as the Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team from 1956 to 2010, the Kentucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association from 1970 until the ABA-NBA merger in June 1976, and the Louisville Cardinals women's team from its inception in 1975 to 2010. The Kentucky Stickhorses of the North American Lacrosse League used Freedom Hall from 2011 until the team folded in 2013. From 2015 to 2019 it has hosted the VEX Robotics Competition World Championship Finals yearly in mid-April.

Makuhari Messe Japanese convention center in the Mihama-ku of Chiba city

Makuhari Messe (幕張メッセ) is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city, in the northwest corner of Chiba prefecture. Designed by Fumihiko Maki, it is accessible by Tokyo's commuter rail system. Makuhari is the name of the area, and Messe is a German language word meaning "trade fair".

Steve Jefferys was the lone rider in the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony. He galloped into the stadium on his 7-year-old Australian Stock Horse "Ammo", which reared, and then Jefferys cracked his whip to signal the beginning of the Opening Ceremony. This was followed by the entrance of a further 120 riders and their Stock Horses.

Kentucky Exposition Center

The Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC), is a large multi-use facility in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Originally built in 1956. It is overseen by the Kentucky Venues and is the sixth largest facility of its type in the U.S., with 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m2) of indoor space. KEC has two arenas, almost 700,000 sq. ft of Class A exhibit space, nearly 500 acres of outdoor planning space. A majority of the 1.3 million square feet is contiguous.

Supanova Expo Multi-genre fan conventions in Australia

Supanova Comic Con & Gaming is a fan convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy film and TV, comic books, anime, gaming and collectables. It is held annually in the Australian cities of Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and the Gold Coast.

Bauma (trade fair)

The Bauma is the world's largest trade fair in the construction industry. The trade fair, which can be visited by anyone, is held every three years on the grounds of the Neue Messe München and lasts for seven days. Its organizer is Messe München.

Kentucky State Fair Worlds Championship Horse Show

The World's Championship Horse Show, held at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds in Louisville, Kentucky, in Freedom Hall, is a large horse show that includes the American Saddlebred, Hackney pony, and Standardbred breeds. It is usually held annually in late August, coinciding with the dates of the Kentucky State Fair and in the middle of the show season for the three breeds. Any horse or rider who wins there earns the title of World's Champion, and a second-place finish is identified with a Reserve World's Championship title. In addition to the WC and RWC titles, a horse can also earn the World's Grand Championship (WGC) or World's Championship of Champions (WCC) title. The winner of a championship class which requires a qualifier is given one of these titles.

InnoTrans

InnoTrans is the world's largest trade fair focused on the rail transport industry. It is held every two years at the Messe Berlin exhibition centre, which has outdoor standard gauge railway sidings which can be used to exhibit railway vehicles. During the weekend after the trade show the public can visit the rolling stock on display.

Expo Real Trade fair for real estate and investment located in Europe

Expo Real is the biggest trade fair for real estate and investment in Europe. Since 1998 it has been organized by Messe München GmbH in the grounds of Messe München every year. Expo Real is Europe's biggest B2B trade fair.

CeBIT Computer expo

CeBIT was the largest and most internationally representative computer expo. The trade fair was held each year on the Hanover fairground, the world's largest fairground, in Hanover, Germany. In its day, it was considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology. It was organized by Deutsche Messe AG.

The HKTDC Trade Fairs are a series of international trade fairs held annually and organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong.

jazzahead! is an annual trade fair and festival for jazz, held in the German city of Bremen.

EB Games Expo

EB Games Expo, commonly known as EB Expo or EBX, is a video game trade fair / convention held annually in Australia. It is organised by EB Games Australia. It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware. Unlike E3, EB Expo allows members of the general public to attend. The most recent show was held in 2017 from 7–8 October.

Erofame

eroFame is a trade convention for the erotic market. Today, eroFame is worldwide the leading B2B event for the erotic industry, attracting over 200 national and international exhibitors in its latest instalment. The international trade convention has a focus on products and services from the erotic market and the lifestyle segment, including adult toys and erotic accessories, but also lingerie and other products that only have little to do with the hardcore industry.

Messe München

Messe München GmbH is the operator of the Neue Messe München exhibition center, the ICM Internationales Congress Center München and the MOC Veranstaltungscenter München. The exhibition space of the 16 halls together is 180,000 m2 and another 425,000 m2 of outdoor area, making Messe München by far the holder of the largest outdoor area of all exhibition companies in Germany. Messe München organizes some 40 trade fairs for capital and consumer goods and key high-tech-industries in Munich and abroad.

Hamburg Messe

Hamburg Messe is a business unit of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH is a legal entity owned by the city of Hamburg. The Hamburg exhibition complex is host to more than 40 events managed by HMC or third-party organizers annually, drawing over 15,000 exhibitors and 700,000 visitors. In addition, the CCH has hosted approximately 250 conferences, conventions, annual meetings and other events per annum until the end of 2016, attracting an additional 300,000 national and international attendees. The owners of the CCH, CCH Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, launched a comprehensive remodeling and modernization campaign of the convention center in January, 2017.
