Mark Daniel Ronson is a British-born DJ, record producer, songwriter, and remixer. He has received seven Grammy Awards, including Producer of the Year for Amy Winehouse's album Back to Black (2006) and two for Record of the Year singles "Rehab" and "Uptown Funk". He received an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award for co-writing "Shallow" for the film A Star Is Born (2018). In 2023, Ronson co-produced the soundtrack for the fantasy comedy film Barbie, on which he also composed and co-wrote several songs with his production partner Andrew Wyatt. Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao is an American singer and songwriter. She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, which became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. While in Fifth Harmony, Cabello began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of the collaborations "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, the latter reaching number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. She left the group in late 2016.

It was written by Cabello, Sia, Benny Blanco and Happy Perez, with production handled by Blanco, Perez and Cashmere Cat. The song contains an interpolation of Christina Aguilera's 1999 single "Genie in a Bottle". A mid-tempo tropical pop and dance track, it was originally intended to be the lead single from Cabello's debut studio album, which was originally titled The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving. It was later removed from the track listing and featured on Side A of the 7-inch eponymous extended play released on July 14, 2017. The song reached number three in Bulgaria, as well as the top forty in eleven additional countries. "Crying in the Club" is certified Platinum in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Italy. It is Cabello's first completely solo single since her departure from American girl group Fifth Harmony.

Camila is the debut studio album by Cuban-American singer and songwriter Camila Cabello. It was released on January 12, 2018, through Epic Records and Syco. Work on the album began in January 2017, following Cabello's departure from the girl group Fifth Harmony. The project was originally titled The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., with Cabello's debut solo single "Crying in the Club" intended as the lead single. The album was later retitled Camila with "Havana" serving as its official lead single due to the rising success of the song, and "Crying in the Club" was cut from the final track listing. "Havana" became an international success, topping the charts of multiple countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, the UK, and the US, and reaching the top 10 of several others. Primarily a pop record, it also incorporates elements of R&B, Latin, reggaeton, dancehall and hip hop. Camila was produced by Frank Dukes, Skrillex and T-Minus, among others.

Due to its rising success, "Havana" later became the official lead single of Camila, replacing "Crying in the Club". In November 2017, a remix version of the song with Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee was uploaded to Cabello's YouTube page. The first verse of the remix is sung in Spanish while Daddy Yankee replaces Young Thug's verse.

It was written by Cabello, Amy Wadge, Nicolle Galyon and Emily Weisband, and produced by Emile Haynie and Bart Schoudel. "Consequences" is a piano-led ballad. Lyrically, it is about the impact of a partner that was in Cabello's life. The singer teased its single release by sending packages to fans on October 3, 2018. "Consequences" had two versions released as the album's third and final single on October 9, 2018. That same day, the album's original version was sent to US adult contemporary radio and a new orchestral version was released digitally. The orchestral version also impacted US contemporary hit radio on October 16, 2018 and US adult contemporary radio on October 22, 2018. Commercially, the song reached number one in Wallonia (Belgium). A music video for the orchestral version, directed by Dave Meyers, was released on October 10, 2018. A vertical video was also released, showing the singer singing in front of an orchestra. The song was performed on Le Rico Show sur NRJ, Good Morning America and the American Music Awards of 2018. It won the Best Lyrics award at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Late Night Feelings is the fifth studio album by American producer Mark Ronson. It was released on 21 June 2019. It is his first album in four years, following Uptown Special (2015). Its lead single, "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" featuring Miley Cyrus, was released on 29 November 2018. The title track "Late Night Feelings", featuring Lykke Li, was released alongside the album pre-order on 12 April. "Don't Leave Me Lonely" was released on 17 May 2019 as the album's third single. "Find U Again" featuring Camila Cabello was released on 30 May 2019 as the fourth single. "Pieces of Us" featuring King Princess was released on 17 June 2019 as the album's fifth single.

Musically, it is a pop record that contains R&B, Latin pop, and rock influences.

It marks the second collaboration between Cabello and Sheeran, following the earlier single, "South of the Border", from Sheeran's fourth studio album, No.6 Collaborations Project (2019).
