Flyant, also known as FlyAnt Cargo, was an all-cargo airline based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. It operated domestic scheduled services, as well as charter services and ACMI wet leases in Europe and West Africa. Its main base was Madrid Barajas International Airport. [1]

History

The airline started operations on 4 July 2006, was wholly owned by Futura International Airways and had 20 employees by March 2007. [1] Its aircraft AOCs were transferred to AGROAR for Spanish flights, and Air One for Italian flights when Futura closed down on September 22, 2008, although eventually the airline fully ceased operations on 14 December of that year. [2]

After ceasing operations Flyant was sold for the symbolic amount of one Euro, to New Iberital, a Catalan logistics group. The group continued on the cargo business and named the new airline Saicus Air. [3]

Destinations

Flyant's first 737 operated five weekly cargo services from Madrid to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife. [1] The second one was based at Rome-Fuimiccino, performing a five weekly "Posta" service from Rome to Brescia, on behalf Air One. Flyant also operated a daily cargo flight between Lisbon and Funchal.

Futura International Airways was an airline with its head office in the Zona Facturación on the property of Palma de Mallorca Airport in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. It operated scheduled services and charter flights for tour operators and other airlines, in Europe, as well as wet lease and ad hoc charters. Its main base was Palma de Mallorca Airport. After failing to re-finance itself the company ceased trading on the 8 September 2008, leaving many passengers stranded in and around Spain.

Aloha Airlines was an airline in the United States that operated passenger flights from 1946 until 2008. It was headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, operating from its hub at Honolulu International Airport.

MAT Macedonian Airlines was the national flag carrier airline of the Republic of Macedonia. It operated scheduled services between Skopje and Ohrid and several destinations in Europe. It was based in Skopje with its main base at Skopje International Airport.

AeroSur was the second largest privately owned airline in Bolivia, headquartered in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. It operated a domestic and international flight network from its main hub at Viru Viru International Airport to major cities in Bolivia and destinations in South America, the United States and Spain. Founded in April 1992 to take advantage of the deregulation of Bolivia's air transport, it started flying on 24 August that year between Santa Cruz and Potosí.

Pacific East Asia Cargo Airlines, Inc. was a cargo airline based in Pasay, Philippines. The carrier served domestic services from the Philippines with two Boeing 727 freighter aircraft. The airline also had an agreement on selected routes flown by Air Philippines. PEAC was also an affiliate airline of TNT Airways, with PEAC operating TNT leased BAe 146 aircraft.

Slovak Airlines was an airline based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Slovak Airlines operated on the market as an air transport company, operating regular and irregular passenger, cargo and postal transit. It was the flag carrier of the Slovak Republic operating a scheduled service across Europe. It also offered international charter flights to Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Russia, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey. The company also ran wet-lease operations. Its main base was M. R. Štefánik Airport, Bratislava.

West Atlantic UK Limited, formerly Atlantic Airlines Ltd is a British cargo airline based at East Midlands Airport. It operates contract and ad hoc cargo flights worldwide, especially within Europe as part of the West Atlantic Group. The company's fleet is composed of Boeing 737 and ATR72 aircraft. The airline specialises in the transport of dangerous goods and radioactive products and other specialist aerial work, including oil spill response, dispersant spraying and icing trials. The prime activity of the business is the supply and operating of aircraft to night-time freight integrators and consolidators and the operation of ad hoc air charters on behalf of other airlines, freight brokers and forwarders. Atlantic Airlines merged with the Swedish airline "West Air Europe" in 2008 to establish the West Atlantic Group.


Quantum Air was an airline based in Madrid, Spain. It operated domestic scheduled services within Spain, as well as charter and ACMI operations all over Europe. Its fleet was originally wet-leased to Spanair for use on domestic and international routes, but since 14 September 2008, they have operated on their own.

Air Madrid Líneas Aéreas S.A. was an airline headquartered in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Community of Madrid, Spain, operating services to Spain, Tenerife, Mexico, South America, Central America, Europe and Israel. It suspended its operations on 15 December 2006, leaving more than 330,000 passengers stranded in Latin America and Spain. Air Comet took over the Latin American routes, but has now ceased operations as well.

Air Dominicana was the flag carrier airline for the Dominican Republic. It planned to begin operations in October 2009 using a Boeing 737-400 aircraft with daily services to New York City and Miami. A second Boeing 737 was due to join the fleet later. Its headquarters were on the fourth floor of the Air Europa building in Santo Domingo.
