Graeme James Downie [1] is a Scottish Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Dunfermline and Dollar since 2024. [2]
Downie attended Craigmount High School in Edinburgh before reading Politics at the University of Stirling,graduating in 2002. He was one of the first in his family to attend university. [2]
Prior to his election to Parliament,he was elected as Councillor for West Fife and Coastal Villages and Health Spokesperson in the Labour-led Fife Council administration. [3] He initially stood down from his role as Health Spokesperson but continued as a councillor then announced his resignation on 4 September 2024. [4] [5]
Downie received a £5,200 donation from Baronet Gordon Dalyell during the 2024 General Election and in September 2023 took trip to Israel funded by Labour Friends of Israel. [6] [7]
Downie lives in Torryburn in the West Fife and Coastal Villages ward of his constituency.
