Imogen Walker is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Hamilton and Clyde Valley since the 2024 UK general election. [1] [2] She is currently an Assistant Whip. [3]
Walker comes from Lanark [4] and went to school in Stirling. [5] She attended drama school in London [4] and graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a master's degree in mental philosophy.

In the 2024 United Kingdom general election Walker was elected as MP for the new constituency of Hamilton and Clyde Valley with a majority of 9,472. [8] Shortly after being elected,she was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Rachel Reeves,Chancellor of the Exchequer. [9]
In the September 2025 cabinet reshuffle Walker was appointed to the ministerial position of assistant government whip. [10]
Walker is married to Morgan McSweeney,the Chief of Staff to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. [11] They have a son together. [12]
