Louise Elizabeth Sandher-Jones is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for North East Derbyshire since 2024. She gained the seat from Lee Rowley, a Conservative. [1]
Sandher-Jones studied Chinese at the University of Edinburgh. [2]
She is a former Army intelligence officer and a veteran of the War in Afghanistan. [3] In July 2021, she joined McKenzie Intelligence Services as Head of Intelligence. [4] Jones' worked as a senior manager at McKenzie, an "Insurtech analysing the impact of natural disasters". [5]
She served as a councillor for the Loughborough East ward on Charnwood Borough Council, resigning from this role in March 2024 after she was selected as the prospective parliamentary candidate for North East Derbyshire. [6]
Sandher-Jones is married to Jeevun Sandher, the Labour MP for Loughborough. They met in January 2023 when they were both on the campaign trail, and announced their engagement shortly after his proposal on 1 December 2024. [7] They married in August 2025, after which she changed her surname from Jones to Sandher-Jones. [8]
