Overview
Janghai Junction is a medium-revenue station, serving over 15,000 passengers and over 30 Mail/Express and 15 Passenger trains (including MEMU) on a daily basis. It is under the administrative control of the Northern Railway zone's Lucknow NR railway division[4].
Janghai Junction railway station (JNH) was opened in 1864 by the British as part of their efforts to expand the railway network through the region. Its history is connected to the broader development of the railway system in Uttar Pradesh and the British colonial era.
Establishment (1864): The station was built to connect major trade and administrative centers. Its establishment predates the 1872 opening of the main broad-gauge line connecting Varanasi and Lucknow, which was built by the Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway.
