The Korea Railroad Corporation is the national railway operator in South Korea. It is branded as KORAIL (코레일) and changed its official Korean name in November 2019. Currently,KORAIL is a public corporation,managed by Ministry of Land,Infrastructure and Transportation.
The Gyeongbu line (Gyeongbuseon) is a railway line in South Korea and is considered to be the most important and one of the oldest in the country. It was constructed in 1905,connecting Seoul with Busan via Suwon,Daejeon,and Daegu. It is by far the most heavily travelled rail line in South Korea.

It is also referred to as the rail line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway from Yongsan station to Jipyeong station. The section from Cheongnyangni to Dodam was designated as a semi-high-speed railway.
The Gyeongchun Line is a regional rail line between Seoul and Chuncheon,South Korea,operated by Korail. Its name is derived from Gyeong and Chuncheon. It was completely reconstructed in the 2000s. Service on it has operated between Sangbong station on the Jungang Line in eastern Seoul and Chuncheon station,as part of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway system,since December 21,2010. A class of regional rail service named ITX-Cheongchun began operations on February 28,2012,linking Chuncheon to Cheongnyangni and Yongsan Stations.

Seoul Subway Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway is a rapid transit and commuter rail line which links central Seoul,South Korea to Yeoncheon in the northeast,Incheon in the southwest,and Sinchang via Suwon and Cheonan in the south. The central underground portion of Line 1,running underneath Sejongno,Jongno,and Wangsan-ro avenues along Seoul's traditional downtown area,is the oldest subway-operated section in the Seoul Metropolitan Subway system. Its branches and services cover a large part of the Seoul Capital Area;totaling 218.3 km (135.6 mi) in route length.
Onyang-dong,actually a series of six dong,is the central and most populous part of the city of Asan in Chungcheongnam-do,South Korea. It is here that Asan City Hall is located.
The Mugunghwa-ho (Korean: 무궁화호) is a class of train operated by Korail,the main railway operator of South Korea. Mugunghwa trains are Korail's slowest tier of trains stopping at a number of towns and villages,and operating over a number of lines that are not served by other trains. Journey times are generally twice that of KTX trains and 25% longer than ITX express trains.
Cheonan–Asan station is a ground-level train station located mostly in Asan,Chungcheongnam-do,although part of it lies in the neighboring city of Cheonan. This station serves high-speed KTX trains that run from Seoul to either Busan or Mokpo. It is connected to Asan station,a railway station on the Janghang Line which is also served by Line 1 of the Seoul Subway.
The Gyeongbu high-speed railway,also known as Gyeongbu HSR,is South Korea's first high-speed rail line from Seoul to Busan. KTX high-speed trains operate three sections of the line:on 1 April 2004,the first between a junction near Geumcheon-gu Office station,Seoul and a junction at Daejeonjochajang station north of Daejeon,and a second between a junction at Okcheon station,southeast of Daejeon,and a junction near Jicheon station,north of Daegu entered service;then on 1 November 2010,the third section,between a junction west of Daegu and Busan became operational. The missing gaps across the urban areas of Daejeon and Daegu were in construction for an expected opening in 2014,separate tracks into Seoul Station were also planned. The temporary ends of the three sections were connected to the parallel conventional Gyeongbu Line by tracks that will serve as interconnector branches upon the completion of the entire line. On 1 August 2015,construction on urban areas of Daejeon and Daegu were completed;all the sections of HSR line were connected.
Asan Station is a railway station on the Janghang Line which is also served by Line 1 of the Seoul Subway. Its located in Baebang-eup,Asan-si,Chungcheongnam-do,South Korea. Meanwhile,is served by all Saemaeul-ho and Mugunghwa-ho services on the Janghang Line.
The Seohae Line is a dual-track,electrified rail line in western Gyeonggi-do and Seoul,South Korea. The Seohae Line is being built in four sections simultaneously. The line runs 47 km (29 mi) south from Ilsan in Goyang City,crosses the Han River,passes Gimpo Airport,Sosa,Siheung,and ends in Wonsi in Ansan. There is a transfer to different lines at Daegok,Neunggok,Gimpo Int'l Airport,Bucheon Stadium,Sosa and Choji. There are currently 21 stations (Ilsan-Wonsi). The line is operated by Korail,but the stations between Sosa and Wonsi are managed by SEO HAE RAIL CO.,LTD.,which is a subsidiary of Seoul Metro. The infrastructure is also owned by Korail so the line runs on the left like the rest of the South Korean mainline railway network.
High-speed rail service in South Korea began with the construction of a high-speed line from Seoul to Busan in 1992,and was inspired by Japan's Shinkansen. The first commercial high-speed rail service was launched on 1 April 2004. Currently,South Korea hosts two high-speed rail operators:Korea Train eXpress (KTX) and Super Rapid Train (SRT).
G-Train aka West Gold Train (Korean: 서해금빛열차) is a South Korean tourist train operated by Korail. The train began operations in 2015 and transports tourists from Seoul along the coastal areas of the West Sea.
Nuriro (Korean: 누리로) is a class of train operated by Korail,the national railroad of South Korea,it was introduced on June 1,2009,to replace the short-range Mugunghwa-ho. The train was introduced as a replacement for the Bidulgi-ho/Tongil-ho/Mugunghwa-ho operating system between Seoul and Onyangoncheon,and will replace the short-range Mugunghwa-ho when a new train comes in. However,due to various problems,it is currently operating in Yeongdong Line and Jungang Line as a replacement for Mugunghwa-ho.
