Karate Japanese martial art

Karate (空手) is a martial art developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom. It developed from the indigenous Ryukyuan martial arts under the influence of Kung Fu, particularly Fujian White Crane. International Karate is a fighting game developed and published by System 3 for various home computers in 1985. Epyx licensed and released the game in the United States as World Karate Championship in 1986. International Karate +, a successor which expanded the gameplay, was released in 1987.

The World Karate Federation (WKF) is the largest international governing body of sport karate with 198 member countries. It was formed in 1990, is the only karate organization recognised by the International Olympic Committee and has more than ten million members. The WKF organizes the Junior and Senior Karate World Championships, which are each held every other year. The President of the WKF is Antonio Espinos, and the headquarters are located in Madrid, Spain. All the styles are officially recognised by the WKF.

The Asian Karatedo Championships are the highest level of competition for sport karate in Asia. The competition is held in a different country every two years organized by the Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF) under the supervision of World Karate Federation (WKF), the largest international governing body of sport karate with over 180 member countries. It is the only karate organization recognised by the International Olympic Committee and has more than fifty million members. The AKF organizes the Junior and Senior Asian Karatedo Championships in every two years in between the Olympic and Asian Games and participates in WKF World Karate Championships which its member Japan play as a powerhouse country when it comes to sport karate vying for world titles with counterpart opponents from the powerful nations such as France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Spain and Italy in many world championships.

Each NOC could enter a maximum of eight karatekas. Host nation Japan has reserved a spot in each of all 8 events, while four are made available to NOCs through a Tripartite Commission Invitation.

The karate events at the 2001 World Games in Akita was played between 18 and 19 August. 85 athletes, from 29 nations, participated in the tournament. The karate competition took place at Tenno Town Gymnasium.

The Karate Association of India(KAI) is incorporated on 26 September 2013 It is classified as Non-govt company and is registered at Registrar of Companies, Delhi and its only National Sports Federation for Karate Sports in India recognised by Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports affiliated with World Karate Federation (WKF), Asian Karate Federation (AKF), South Asian Karate Do Federation (SAKF) and Commonwealth Karate Federation (CKF) from 2013 to 2020.

Alexandrea Anacan is a Philippine-born New Zealand karate athlete. A resident of Auckland, Anacan represents New Zealand internationally. She is a four-time consecutive gold medalist in the World Karate Federation Oceanian Karate Federation (OKF) from 2016 to till date. Her greatest achievements so far include finishing 2nd position at the Commonwealth Karate Championships, 5th Rank at the Karate World Games and 3rd place at the World University Games, the largest international multi-sport event behind the Olympics.

Noah Bitsch German karateka

Noah Bitsch is a German karateka. He has won medals at both the World Karate Championships and European Karate Championships with his best individual result being bronze at the 2014 World Karate Championships and silver at the 2015 European Karate Championships. He has also won medals in the men's team kumite event at several editions of both competitions. In 2013, he also won the silver medal in his event at the 2013 World Games held in Cali, Colombia.
