The World Cadet, Junior and U21 Karate Championships, also knows as World Karate Championship Junior are the highest level of competition for karate for U21 athletes organized by the World Karate Federation (WKF). [1] Initiated in 1996 held in Johannesburg, South Africa, the competition is held in a different city every two years. [2]

The Asian Karatedo Championships are the highest level of competition for sport karate in Asia. The competition is held in a different country every two years organized by the Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF) under the supervision of World Karate Federation (WKF), the largest international governing body of sport karate with over 180 member countries. Tareg Ali Hamedi is a Saudi Arabian karateka. He represented Saudi Arabia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He is an eight-time medalist, including four gold medals, at the Asian Karate Championships. He is also a gold medalist at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games and a two-time bronze medalist at the Asian Games.

Youssef Badawy is an Egyptian karateka and a world-classed champion. He won the gold medal in the men's kumite 84 kg event at the 2021 World Karate Championships held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In 2019, he won the bronze medal in the men's kumite 84kg event at the World Cadet, Junior & Under 21 Championships in Chile, marking his debut at the Worlds and introducing himself as a candidate for the World Champion title.
