The Millar-Wheeler House is a historic home located at 1423 Genesee Street in Utica, Oneida County, New York. It was built in 1866, and consists of a three-story, square, brick main block and two-story, frame rear wing. It features an ornate Italianate style entrance portico topped by an oriel window, a low-pitched hipped roof with broad eaves and belvedere, and scrolled brackets. It is operated as Rosemont Inn, a bed and breakfast.
Monterey Place, best known as the Shepard House, is a historic residence in Mobile, Alabama, United States. The house was designed by architect George Franklin Barber in 1897 for Charles Martin Shepard, the general passenger agent for the Mobile and Ohio Railroad in Mobile. Shepard's daughters, Kate and Isabel, began to use the house as a boarding school in 1910.
Washington is a former commuter railroad train station in the borough of Washington, Warren County, New Jersey. The station serviced trains operated by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad on three different lines. Washington station handled the Lackawanna Old Road, which came from Port Morris Junction and continued to Portland, Pennsylvania; the Hampton Branch, which went to Hampton's Central Railroad of New Jersey station in Hunterdon County; and the Phillipsburg Branch, which operated to Phillipsburg Union Station. Washington station contained a single large brick depot and multiple platforms.
The Abner Davison House, also known as Riverview, is one of several mansions that overlook the Mississippi River on the east side of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984, and on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties since 1997.
E. B. Hawkins House, also known as the Hawkins-Ballard House, is a historic mansion located at Fayetteville, Fayette County, West Virginia. It was built in 1905–1906, and is a 12,000-square-foot (1,100 m2) clapboard and shingle-sided dwelling in a modified Colonial Revival style. It features gambrel roofs and rambling porches. Also on the property are a guest house, garage, barn, and frame cottage. It is now known as the Historic White Horse Bed and Breakfast.
James Wylie House, also known as The Shamrock, O'Connell House, and Hanna House, is a historic home located at White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. It was built before 1825, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, red brick house with a Georgian style floorplan. A remodeling executed in 1906, added Italianate style design elements to the roofline and window openings. Also on the property is a settlement period, two story log cabin and a miniature stone replica of a castle. It is operated as a bed and breakfast.
Nagle Warren Mansion, also known as Cheyenne YWCA Building, is former residence and YWCA with three buildings located in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming. The mansion is on the edge of Cheyenne's historic downtown section on Cattle Barons’ Row. It operated as a bed and breakfast ("B&B") establishment since 1997 with twelve guest rooms decorated in Victorian West style. One guest room is a suite and each room has its own bath. Six rooms are in the main house and six in the carriage house. There are three conference rooms. The B&B had an AAA four-diamond rating. Furnishings and decorations are authentic to the period of the American Old West and include furniture; wallpaper; brass, marble, bronze, or gas fireplaces; ornate staircases; cherry, mahogany, and oak woodwork; and stained glass windows, as well as some Moorish tile and a Moroccan chandelier. In 2019 it became a private residence.
The Theophilus Crawford House is a historic house at 53 Hickory Ridge Road South in Putney, Vermont. Built about 1808, it is one of the oldest brick houses in Putney, and one of its finest examples of Federal architecture in brick. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. Its current owners operate it as the Hickory Ridge House Bed and Breakfast Inn.
Walnut Grove is an historic Greek Revival-style house in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. The house was built in 1840 on land that was purchased by Jonathan Johnson in 1829. Markings on the exposed oak beams indicate that Walnut Grove was built by William A. Jennings. Jennings was recognized as a master builder of Greek Revival homes during that period. Walnut Grove was added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2004.
Brightly is a historic plantation house located near Goochland, Goochland County, Virginia. The main dwelling was built about 1842, and is a two-story, single pile, central-passage-plan, gable-roofed brick dwelling in the Greek Revival style. The front facade features a one-story, one-bay Greek Revival Doric order porch. Also on the property are the contributing pair of slave dwellings, privy, granary, chicken house, barn, well house, windmill, cemetery and the gate posts.
The Henry Piper House, in Virginia City, Nevada, United States, is a historic house that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is operated as a bed and breakfast, the B Street House Bed and Breakfast, and is the only bed and breakfast in an individually-NRHP-listed house in Virginia City. The house was built after the Great Fire of 1875, which destroyed much of Virginia City, and was completed by December. The house was renovated into a bed and breakfast during 2004–2007, and it received a Nevada state historic preservation award for its renovation in 2008. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
The Oaks is a historic home located at Christiansburg, Montgomery County, Virginia. It was built in 1893, and is a two-story, asymmetrical Queen Anne style frame house. It features a wraparound porch, a polygonal tower, a polygonal turret, and a hipped roof with two cross gables and four brick chimneys. It is operated as a bed and breakfast.
Longwood House is a historic home located at Farmville, Prince Edward County, Virginia, and functions as the home of the president of Longwood University. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, frame dwelling with a gable roof. It features Greek Revival style woodwork and Doric order porch. Longwood House has a central passage, double-pile plan. It has a two-story wing added about 1839, and a second wing added in the 1920s, when the property was purchased by Longwood University. The house is located next to the university golf course, and since 2006, athletic fields used by the Longwood Lancers.
Riverton Historic District is a national historic district located at Front Royal, Warren County, Virginia. The district encompasses 66 contributing buildings and one contributing site in the town of Front Royal. It is a primarily residential district with buildings dating from the mid-19th century and including a diverse collection of building types and architectural styles. Notable buildings include Lackawanna (1869), the Old Duncan Hotel, the Riverton United Methodist Church (1883-1890), Dellbrook, the Carson Lime Company worker's houses, and the Old Riverton Post Office and Grocery. Located in the district and separately listed is Riverside.
McVitty House, also known as the Inn at Burwell Place, is a historic home located at Salem, Virginia. It was built in 1906 and expanded with a substantial addition in 1925. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped, Colonial Revival style frame dwelling. It features a full-length wrap-around porch with Tuscan columns, elaborate dormers, stunning fanlight windows and an attached sun/sleeping porch. The house is operated as a bed and breakfast.
Cave Hill Farm is a historical farm at 9780 Cave Hill Road in McGaheysville, Virginia. The centerpiece of the farm is its main house, a two-story brick house with Federal and Greek Revival characteristics. The farm is named for a cave that is located on a limestone outcrop on the north side of Cave Hill Road. It is the source of a spring on the property, and was historically used for food storage. Since 1868 the property has been in the hands of Mann family descendants, the Hopkins, who operate a bed and breakfast inn.
The Colony House is a historic house at 104 West Street in Keene, New Hampshire. Built in 1819 and enlarged about 1900, it is a good example of Federal period architecture, and is notable for its association with Horatio Colony, a prominent local businessman and the city's first mayor. The house, now operated as a bed and breakfast inn, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
Kelley–Fredrickson House and Office Building, also known as the Arthur Fredrickson House and Candy Store, is a historic home and commercial building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. The house was built in 1892, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, irregular plan, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. Two additions were constructed between 1898 and 1917. It features a polygonal corner tower with a conical roof multiple porches with Stick Style ornamentation, bay and oriel windows, and a variety of decorative siding elements. The office / store was built in 1892, and is a 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame building on a brick foundation. The house was moved to 702 W. Colfax in 1986 and is operated as a bed and breakfast.
Joslin Farm is a historic farm property at 1661 East Warren Road in Waitsfield, Vermont. First developed c. 1830, the farm is home to one of Vermont's shrinking number of round barns. Now used as a bed and breakfast called The Inn at the Round Barn, the farm property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
John Garth House, also known as Woodside Place, is a historic home located near Hannibal, Ralls County, Missouri. It was built about 1871, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Second Empire style frame dwelling. It measures approximately 99 feet by 54 feet and sits on a limestone block foundation. It features mansard roofs, projecting tower, four porches, and two semi-octagonal bay windows. It was built as a summer home for John H. Garth a prominent local citizen of Hannibal, Missouri and friend of Samuel Clemens. It is operated as Garth Woodside Mansion Bed and Breakfast Inn.
