The Florida State Seminoles football team has represented Florida State University in collegiate football since 1947. As Florida State College from 1902-1904. The following is a list of Florida State Seminoles football seasons. [1]

  3. 1 2 Following the game against Florida, Jimbo Fisher resigned as coach; associate coach Odell Haggins was named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
  4. 1 2 3 On November 3, 2019, Taggart was fired after losing to Miami (FL) and falling to 4–5 on the season and 9–12 overall. Defensive line coach Odell Haggins was named interim head coach for the remainder of the season, for the second time during his tenure with the program.

Marvin Maurice Jones is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for eleven seasons during the 1990s and early 2000s. Jones played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and was recognized as a consensus All-American twice. He was selected in the first round of the 1993 NFL draft by the New York Jets and he played his entire professional career for the Jets. In 2018, Jones was the head coach for the Cedar Rapids Titans in the Indoor Football League (IFL) and served as head coach of the Omaha Beef in the Champions Indoor Football (CIF) from 2020-2022. Beginning in 2023, Jones will be the head coach of the IFL's Tulsa Oilers.

The Florida State Football Sod Cemetery is a symbolic monument that memorializes a longstanding college football tradition that dates back to 1962. It features over 100 bronze plaques, each commemorating a "sod game." Sod games represent the Seminoles' greatest victories away from the team's home in Tallahassee. Interred beneath each bronze plaque is a piece of sod—a fragment from the field—that is ceremoniously extracted from the stadiums where the Seminoles claimed victory.
