Karl Menger was an Austrian–American mathematician, the son of the economist Carl Menger. In mathematics, Menger studied the theory of algebras and the dimension theory of low-regularity ("rough") curves and regions; in graph theory, he is credited with Menger's theorem. The Stuart School of Business (Stuart) is the business school within Illinois Institute of Technology, a private Ph.D.-granting technological university, located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Illinois Tech's primary campus, known as the Mies Campus in honor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, is located in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago. Stuart offers undergraduate courses at the Mies Campus and graduate courses at Illinois Tech's Conviser Law Center in Downtown Chicago.

John P. Calamos, Sr. is a Greek-American businessman who founded Calamos Asset Management, which manages $35 billion in assets on behalf of institutions and individual investors, in 1977. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a United States Air Force Bomber Pilot/ Forward Air Controller with more than 900 combat hours. Calamos received a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1963 and an MBA in 1970, and currently serves on the IIT Board of Trustees. Rajeev Chandrasekhar is an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a junior minister in the incumbent Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology of India. He is also an entrepreneur, technocrat and a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha from BJP representing Karnataka. He served as National Spokesperson of BJP and was vice-chairman of the Kerala faction of the BJP-led coalition National Democratic Alliance.

John Leonard Anderson is the current president of the National Academy of Engineering. He was a professor of chemical engineering, who served as the eighth president of Illinois Institute of Technology. Prior to his appointment at IIT, Anderson held positions in academia at various institutions, serving both as the provost of Case Western Reserve University and the dean of the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Rajeev Motwani</span> Indian computer scientist (1962–2009)

Rajeev Motwani was an Indian American professor of Computer Science at Stanford University whose research focused on theoretical computer science. He was a special advisor to Sequoia Capital. He was a winner of the Gödel Prize in 2001.

John Theodore Rettaliata was a fluid dynamicist who was president of Illinois Institute of Technology for 21 years, from 1952 to 1973, and served on President Dwight D. Eisenhower's National Aeronautics and Space Council, the predecessor to NASA. He received the American Society of Mechanical Engineers/Pi Tau Sigma joint Gold Medal in 1942, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award of Johns Hopkins University, was a National Honorary Member of the Triangle Fraternity, and held a lifetime position on the Museum of Science and Industry Board of Trustees. He also held the distinction of being one of the first people to fly in a jet aircraft. Illinois Institute of Technology has a professorial position dedicated to Rettaliata, the John T. Rettaliata Distinguished Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, currently occupied by Hassan M. Nagib.

Thomas Lyle Martin Jr. served as president of the Illinois Institute of Technology (ITT) from 1974 to 1987.

The Department of Physics at the Illinois Institute of Technology has over 30 faculty members. It offers undergraduate academic programs including B.S. in physics, applied physics, and physics education and graduate programs in physics and health physics. Many notable physicists have both taught and studied at IIT including Nobel Prize for Physics laureates Leon M. Lederman and Jack Steinberger.

Oopalee Operajita, is a classical Odissi and Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer. As well as the chair and founder of the Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition. The competition is named for former U.S. vice president Al Gore but operates without his involvement.

Bahram Nouraei, professionally known as Bahram is a hip hop recording artist and record producer from Tehran, Iran currently living in Stockholm, Sweden. He is one of the premier hip hop artists in Iranian underground music and hip hop movement and considered to be one of the 50 most influential people in the culture of the Middle East.
