The Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is one of the major art colleges in India. It has a reputation for promoting a creative and individualist approach among its students, and has historically adhered to secularist, humanist, and modernist ideals.

Vinod K. Singh is a Rahula and Namita Gautam Chair Professor of Chemistry at IIT Kanpur. He is also the Director's Chair Professor at IISER Bhopal & adjunct Professor at NIPER Hyderabad. He is currently the President, Chemical Research Society of India and the Chairman, Governing Council of IACS Kolkata.

Sosa Joseph is an Indian contemporary artist living in Kochi, Kerala. She is considered an important exponent of the contemporary female art in Kerala, India. Joseph studied at the Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikara Kerala, and the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. In 2015 her work was exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. In 2016 she exhibited at the Setouchi Triennale in Shodoshima, Japan, and in 2018 she was included in the 21st Biennale of Sydney.

Jayaraman Gowrishankar is an Indian medical microbiologist. Gowrishankar received his M.B.B.S. degree from the Christian Medical College, Vellore. He holds Doctor of philosophy in bacterial genetics from the University of Melbourne.

Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay is an Indian scientist specializing in computational biology. A professor at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, she is a Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize winner in Engineering Science for 2010, IInfosys Prize 2017 laureate in the Engineering and Computer Science category and TWAS Prize winner for Engineering Sciences in 2018. Her research is mainly in the areas of evolutionary computation, pattern recognition, machine learning and bioinformatics. Since 1 August 2015, she has been the Director of the Indian Statistical Institute, and she would oversee the functioning of all five centres of Indian Statistical Institute located at Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, and Tezpur besides several other Statistical Quality Control & Operation Research Units spread across India. She is the first woman Director of the Indian Statistical Institute. Currently she is on the Prime Ministers' Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council. In 2022 she was given the Padma Shri award for Science and Engineering by the Government of India.

Mrunalini Devi Puar was an Indian educator and Chancellor of a recognized Indian university with more than 35,000 students.

Ajit Kumar Basu (1912–1986) was an Indian cardiac surgeon. He was a recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, the highest Indian science award in 1967. He was honoured by the Government of India in 1970 with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award. He qualified for his FRCS in 1946. He was the first Indian to be appointed examiner of the Royal College and served as its Hunterian Professor.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Dipankar Chatterji</span> Indian molecular biologist

Dipankar Chatterji is an Indian molecular biologist and the Honorary Professor at Molecular Biophysics Unit, Indian Institute of Science, a multidisciplinary research institute under the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. He is known for his pioneering research on bacterial transcription. He is a recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize and is an elected fellow of all the major Indian science academies. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to science and engineering.

Onkar Nath Srivastava was an Indian material physicist, an Emeritus professor of Banaras Hindu University and the vice president for India and South Asia of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy, who was known for his contributions to the disciplines of nanotechnology and hydrogen energy. He was the author of two books and over 440 scientific papers and a recipient of several honors including Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, the highest Indian award in the science and technology categories. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to science and engineering.

Kanury Raoalso known as Kanury Venkata Subba Rao is an Indian immunologist. He was the head of the Drug Discovery Research Centre (DDRC) at the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) Faridabad. He is known for his studies in the fields of peptide synthesis and cell signaling and the design of synthetic peptide vaccines. He is an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, India and the Indian National Science Academy. and a recipient of several awards including the Millennium Plaque of Honour of the Indian Science Congress and the National Bioscience Award for Career Development. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, in 1997, for his contributions to biological sciences.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Man Mohan Suri</span>

Man Mohan Suri (1928–1981) was an Indian mechanical engineer and the Director of Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur. He is best known for inventing Suri Transmission, a hydromechanical transmission unit, reported to increase the efficiency of diesel locomotives and he held the patent for the inventions. The technology is known to have led to 36 patent specifications in eleven countries. He is also credited with the conceptualization of Swaraj farm tractor, a product of Punjab Tractors Ltd. and held another patent for his development of Railway truck wheel assembly. He received the fourth highest Indian civilian award of the Padma Shri in 1961. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 1962. The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has instituted an annual award, Padmashri Manmohan Suri Project Award, for honoring the best mechanical project by its alumni.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kshitish Ranjan Chakravorty</span> Indian engineer, fertilizer scientist (born 1916)

Kshitish Ranjan Chakravorty was an Indian engineer, fertilizer scientist and the head of the Planning and Development Division of the Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCI). He was credited with the establishment of Planning and Development Division of FCI and with the development indigenous fertilizer plants in India. Born on 1 February 1916, Chakravorty was the author of two books, Science Based on Symmetry, Volume 1 and Energy Field of the Universe and Atom, Part 1 and he held the patent for a process on an ionexchange material from the acid sludge. He sat in the Committee on Tachnical Consultancy Services of the Government of India and was an Indian member of the Indo-US Workshop on the Management of Organization of Industrial Research held in 1970. He received the fourth highest Indian civilian award, the Padma Shri, in 1954, making him one of the earliest recipients of the award. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 1968.

Rajinder Kumar is an Indian chemical engineer and a former professor at the Indian Institute of Science. He is known for his studies on multiphase phenomena and is an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, and the Indian National Academy of Engineering. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 1976. He received the third highest Indian civilian award of the Padma Bhushan in 2003. He is also a recipient of Om Prakash Bhasin Award and the VASVIK Industrial Research Award.

Thomas John Pucadyil is an Indian molecular biologist, biochemist and a professor and chair of biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune. Known for his studies on membrane biochemistry and vesicular transport, Pucadyil is an international research scholar of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a senior fellow of the Wellcome Trust- Department of Biotechnology. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to biological sciences in 2018.

Dishant Mayurbhai Pancholi is a professor in the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai with research interests in contact and symplectic topology. Before taking up the position in The Institute Of Mathematical Sciences in 2016, Pancholi was an assistant professor at Chennai Mathematical Institute. He is also a von Newmann Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. The Singapore based magazine Asian Scientist selected Pancholi as the top ranking Asian Scientist of the year 2020 in a list of 100 Asia’s most outstanding researchers. Pancholi was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in Mathematical Sciences in the year 2019.
