Inception is a 2010 science fiction thriller film directed and written by Christopher Nolan. Released to critical and commercial success, the film was named one of the ten best films of the year by National Board of Review and American Film Institute.

Contents

Inception won the 83rd Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects, and was nominated for a total of eight, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. Geoffrey Shawn Fletcher is an American screenwriter and film director. Fletcher is best known for being the screenwriter of Precious, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, becoming the first African American to receive an Academy Award for writing. In September 2010, Fletcher began shooting Violet & Daisy in New York City based on his original script as his directorial debut. It was released in a limited theatrical run in June 2013.
