Usnea is a genus of mostly pale grayish-green fruticose lichens that grow like leafless mini-shrubs or tassels anchored on bark or twigs. The genus is in the family Parmeliaceae. It grows all over the world. Members of the genus are commonly called old man's beard, beard lichen, or beard moss.
Tilletia is a genus of smut fungi in the Tilletiaceae family. Species in this genus are plant pathogens that affect various grasses. Tilletia indica, which causes Karnal bunt of wheat, and Tilletia horrida, responsible for rice kernel smut, are examples of species that affect economically important crops.

They are leaf parasites. Such as Asterostomella miliusaeA.K. Singh, Kamal & Shiv K. Singh (1982) is found on Miliusa tomentosa(Roxb.) Finet & Gagnep. plants in India as a type of 'black mildew'.
