Polad Bulbuloghlu is a Soviet and Azerbaijani singer, actor, politician, and diplomat. Bulbuloghlu became famous in the Soviet Union with composing jazz-influenced songs with heavy Azerbaijani folk influences in Azerbaijani and Russian languages. He also sang his own songs. Three of his songs became Songs of the Year and he received numerous prestigious awards in the Soviet Union. Bulbuloghlu is a lyrical tenor.

Qasımlı is a ruined village in the Agdam Rayon of Azerbaijan. It was liberated in October 2020 having been under Armenian occupation for nearly 30 years. However, former residents visiting the ruins reported that there was so little left that they could only find their way around by the topography, such was the level of destruction.

Aşağı Aralıq is a municipality and village in the Sharur District of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan. It is located 5 km in the south-east from the district center, on the right bank of the Arpachay River, in the near of the international railway of Azerbaijan Republic. Its population is busy with gardening, vegetable-growing and animal husbandry. There are secondary school, club and a medical center in the village. It has a population of 953. The villages of district and the city of Nakhchivan are being provided with drinking water from the quality drinking water source of its territory.

Rauf Soltan oghlu Hajiyev was a Soviet and Azerbaijani composer and politician. He was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR (1978). He was Chairman of the Union of Composers of the Azerbaijan SSR, minister of culture of the Azerbaijan SSR (1965–1971).

Jahangir Shirgasht oglu Jahangirov was a Soviet and Azerbaijani composer, conductor and choirmaster; he was named People's Artiste of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1964.

Tokay Habib oglu Mammadov was the eminent sculptor-monumentalist of Azerbaijan, People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1973), corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1975), Honored Arts Worker of the Azerbaijan SSR (1962), Professor (1977). In 1970-1972's he was a chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan and was the corresponding member of Russian Academy of Arts.

Mirza Abduljabbar oglu Babayev was an Azerbaijani movie actor and singer. He was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1956), and People's Artist of Azerbaijan (1992).

Azerbaijanis in Turkmenistan are part of the Azerbaijani diaspora. They are Turkmen citizens and permanent residents of ethnic Azerbaijani background. Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan used to be part of the Russian Empire and later the Soviet Union. As of 1989, there were 33,365 Azerbaijanis in Turkmenistan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Abdulvahab Salamzadeh</span> Soviet architect

Abdul Vahab Rahim oglu Salamzadeh, was a Soviet-Azerbaijani art critic, architect, doctor of art history, and academician. He had served as the deputy director of the Institute of Architecture and Art of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijani SSR, and head of the department of history and theory of architecture in the same institute, and received the title of Honoured Builder of the Azerbaijani SSR.
