The Socialist Party of Senegal is a political party in Senegal. It was the ruling party in Senegal from independence in 1960 until 2000. In 2000, the party's candidate and previous incumbent president, Abdou Diof, was defeated by the leader of the Senegalese Democratic Party, Abdoulaye Wade.
The And-Jëf/African Party for Democracy and Socialism is a socialist political party in Senegal led by Landing Savané.

The Africa Liberal Network is an organization composed of 47 political parties from 29 countries in Africa. It is an associated organisation of Liberal International, the political family to which liberal democratic parties belong. The ALN serves to promote liberal objectives and principles throughout the continent.
The Federation of Green Parties of Africa is an umbrella body of the various national Green parties and environmental parties in Africa. The formal coalition, the African Greens Federation (AGF) formed in 2010 at a conference in Kampala, Uganda. As part of the Global Greens, founded in 2001 in Canberra, Australia, the parties included in the Federation of Green Parties of Africa follow the Global Greens Charter. The organization's permanent administration is in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, where the predominant green organization is the Rassemblement Des Ecologistes du Burkina Faso. These parties tend to, but not always, be left-leaning and often do not have widespread support in their respective countries.
Landing Savané is a Senegalese politician and the secretary-general of And-Jëf/African Party for Democracy and Socialism.
Indirect Senate elections were held in Senegal on 19 August 2007. Over 13,000 MPs, local and municipal councillors were eligible to vote in this election, in which 35 of the Senate's 100 members were chosen across the country's 35 districts; President Abdoulaye Wade nominated the other 65 members.
United to Boost Senegal is a Senegalese political coalition. It was active in the 22 March 2009 Municipal elections in that country. The coalition was made up of members of parties opposed to President Abdoulaye Wade's ruling Senegalese Democratic Party and its Sopi Coalition. Coalition partners included the Socialist Party of Senegal, Alliance of the Forces of Progress, Front for Socialism and Democracy/Benno Jubël, and Reform Movement for Social Development. Prominent BSS members include Khalifa Sall, Biram Sassoum Sy, Doudou Issa Niasse, and Haoua Dia Thiam. The party's colours are Green and Yellow.
