Jizzakh Region is one of the regions of Uzbekistan. It is located in the center/east of the country. It borders with Tajikistan to the south and south-east, Samarqand Region to the west, Navoiy Region to the north-west, Kazakhstan to the north, and Sirdaryo Region to the east. It covers an area of 21,210 km2. The population is 1,443,408 with 53% living in rural areas.

Jalal-Abad is the administrative and economic centre of Jalal-Abad Region in southwestern Kyrgyzstan. Its area is 88 square kilometres (34 sq mi), and its resident population was 123,239 in 2021. It is situated at the north-eastern end of the Fergana valley along the Kögart river valley, in the foothills of the Babash Ata mountains, very close to the Uzbekistan border.

Jalal-Abad Region is a region (oblast) of Kyrgyzstan. Its capital is the city of the same name, Jalal-Abad. It is surrounded by Talas Region, Chüy Region, Naryn Region, Osh Region, and Uzbekistan. Jalal-Abad Region was established on 21 November 1939. On 27 January 1959 it became a part of Osh Region, but regained its old status as a region on 14 December 1990. Its total area is 32,418 km2 (12,517 sq mi). The resident population of the region was 1,260,617 as of January 2021. The region has a sizeable Uzbek minority.

Tashkent Region is a viloyat (region) of Uzbekistan, located in the northeastern part of the country, between the Syr Darya River and the Tien Shan Mountains. It borders with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Sirdaryo Region and Namangan Region, as well as the city of Tashkent which is a region in its own right, forming en enclave entirely encircled by the territory of Tashkent Region. It covers an area of 15,250 km². The population is estimated 2,975,900 (2021). Its capital is the city Nurafshon. Other cities are Angren, Olmaliq, Ohangaron, Bekabad, Chirchiq, Gʻazalkent, Keles, Parkent, Yangiabad, and Yangiyoʻl.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chatkalskiy State Nature Reserve</span>

Chatkalskiy State Nature Reserve is a reserve in the Tashkent Province of Uzbekistan comprising about 570 square kilometres of mountain steppes, mountain forests, alpine meadows, river valleys and floodplain forests. The state nature preserve was established here in 1947, and it was designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1978. The most important river in this area is the Tereklisay, flowing from south to north across the nature reserve.

Today, the museums of Uzbekistan store over two million artifacts, evidence of the unique historical, cultural, and spiritual life of the Central Asian peoples that have lived in the region.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lake Sary-Chelek</span> Body of water

Sary-Chelek is a mountain lake located in Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve in Jalal-Abad Province in Western Kyrgyzstan. It is north of Arkyt at the eastern end of the Chatkal Range. There are a number of smaller lakes in the area. The lake is 7.5 km (4.7 mi) long and its average width is 650 m (2,130 ft). Its area is 4.92 km2 (1.90 sq mi) and its maximum depth is 234 m (768 ft). It is drained by the river Toskool, a tributary of the Kojata.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lake Charvak</span> Body of water

Lake Charvak is a water reservoir in Boʻstonliq District in the northern part of Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan, separating Ugam (north), Pskem (east), and Chatkal (south) ranges. The reservoir was created by erecting a 168 m (551 ft) high stone dam on the river Chirchiq, a short distance downstream from the confluence of Pskem, Koʻksuv and Chatkal rivers in the western Tian Shan mountains, which provide the main volume of water. Currently the confluence cannot be seen and all three rivers discharge directly into Charvak. The reservoir capacity is 2 km3 (0.48 cu mi).

Zaamin National Park is the oldest nature reserve in Uzbekistan. It was created in 1926 as the Guralash Nature Preserve, and is located on the northern side of the Turkestan Range. Due to its green landscape and beauty, the Zaamin National Park is often referred to as the Switzerland of Uzbekistan.

Greater Chimgan of the Chatkal Mountain range is located in the territory of the Ugam-Chatkal National Park, and it is in the Bostanlyk administrative district, Uzbekistan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chatkal</span> River in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan

The Chatkal is a river of Jalal-Abad Region, Kyrgyzstan and Tashkent Region in Uzbekistan. It is the left source river of the Chirchiq in the Syr Darya basin. In its upper course it is called Karakulja.

Under UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Reserve Programme, there are 142 biosphere reserves recognized as part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves in Asia and the Pacific as of April 2016. These are distributed across 24 countries in the region.

Chorvoq is an urban-type settlement in Boʻstonliq District, Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan. The town is 575 metres above sea level and lies on the river Chirchiq, downstream from Lake Charvak, an irrigation and hydroelectric facility.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sayram-Ugam National Park</span>

Sayram-Ugam National Park, also Sairam-Ugam, is a mountainous region of the Western Tian Shan Mountains, on the border with Uzbekistan. Ugam-Chatkal National Park of Uzbekistan is across the border, and Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve of Kazakhstan is directly to the northeast along the border. The area has high levels of species diversity, covering floral communities from steppe to high altitude zones. It is particularly known for stands of juniper forests, and stands of fruit and nut trees. Sayram-Ugam is located in Kazygurt District, Tole Bi District and Tulkibas District of South Kazakhstan Region. The park boundary is 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of the regional city of Shymkent, and 50 km northeast of the Uzbekh capital of Tashkent.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Gissaro–Alai open woodlands</span>

The Gissaro-Alai open woodlands ecoregion covers the western foothills winding around two western offshoots of the Tian Shan Mountains in western Tajikistan, and parts of eastern Uzbekistan and western Kyrgyzstan, in Central Asia. The woodlands are typically of Juniper trees and shrubs, fitting the altitude zone situated between the desert valley floor, and the tree line, above which the mountain ridges are glaciated and barren.

The 2021 Uzbekistan Cup is the 29th season of the annual Uzbekistan Cup, the knockout football cup competition of Uzbekistan. The cup winner qualifies for a place in the 2022 AFC Champions League.
