Miss Earth is an annual international environmental-themed beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International, this pageant is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants – the most coveted beauty titles when it comes to international pageant competitions. The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote specific projects and often address issues concerning the environment and other global issues through school tours, tree planting activities, street campaigns, coastal clean ups, speaking engagements, shopping mall tours, media guesting, environmental fairs, storytelling programs to children, eco-fashion shows, and other environmental activities.
The Miss Earth winner is the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations. The Miss Earth Foundation also works with the environmental departments and ministries of participating countries, various private sectors and corporations, as well as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).

Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 14 July 2008 at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned by Riyo Mori of Japan as her successor at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed in this year which was broadcast and distributed globally via NBC in English and Telemundo in Spanish to TV outlets in more than 180 countries. The pageant was watched by a live audience of 7,500 and nearly a billion television viewers worldwide.
Miss International 2008, the 48th Miss International pageant, was held on November 8, 2008 at The Venetian Macao in Macau，the presenters are Eric Tsang, Dodo Cheng, Astrid Chan. 63 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the 48 years of the pageant, surpassing the previous of 61 during last year pageant. The contestants also paid a visit to Hong Kong, Tokyo. Miss International 2007, Priscila Perales of Mexico, crowned her successor Alejandra Andreu of Spain as the new Miss International.
Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 August at the Imperial Ballroom in Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas. It was the first back-to-back victories in Miss Universe history: Stefanía Fernández was crowned by Dayana Mendoza as her successor at the end of the event and Venezuela is the first and only country to defend Miss Universe title.
Miss Jamaica Universe is a beauty pageant that selects the contestant to represent Jamaica at the Miss Universe beauty pageant.
Miss Russia 2007 was held on December 14, 2007 at Gostinom Yard, Moscow, Russia. Tatiana Kotova of Rostov-on-Don crowned her successor Ksenia Sukhinova of Tyumen as the brand new Miss Russia. Riyo Mori and Zhang Zilin participated in the event. Ksenia Sukhinova competed in the Miss World 2008 pageant, where was crowned the winner. Although she wasn't the winner of the national pageant, the Miss Russia organization decided to send the second runner-up, Vera Krasova, to the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam where she made it to the top-5 finalists.
Miss World 2009, the 59th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 12 December 2009 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. 112 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the pageant's history. Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia crowned her successor Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar at the end of event. It is the first time that someone from Gibraltar won Miss World. In the past, people from mainland Britain have won.
Miss International 2009, the 49th Miss International pageant, was held on November 28, 2009 at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The pageant was originally scheduled to be held on November 7, 2009 at The Venetian Macao in Macau, but the host committee backed out. 65 contestants competed for the coveted title. Alejandra Andreu of Spain crowned Anagabriela Espinoza of Mexico as the new titleholder.
Vera Krasova is a Russian model and beauty queen. She competed in the 2007 Miss Russia pageant on December 14 where she represented the capital of Russia, Moscow. Vera made it to the top-3 contestants and placed as the 2nd runner-up to the eventual winner Ksenia Sukhinova. Although she wasn't the winner of the national pageant, Miss Russia organization decided to send her to Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She made it to the top-5 finalists. This was the first time Russia finished in the Top 5 of Miss Universe since Oxana Fedorova in 2002.

Miss Universe 2010, the 59th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 August 2010 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico was crowned by Stefanía Fernández of Venezuela as her successor at the end of the event. 83 contestants from around the world competed in this year.
Miss World 2011, the 61st edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 6 November 2011 at the Earls Court Two in London, United Kingdom. As part of the events, the contestants also travelled to Edinburgh, Scotland between 23 and 27 October. Alexandria Mills of the United States crowned her successor Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela at the end of the event, she is the sixth Venezuelan women to win Miss World. Although over 120 delegates were expected to compete, problems regarding the timely acquisition of visas prevented several candidates from participating, thus reducing the final number to 113. Miss World 2011 was viewed by over 1 billion people worldwide.
Miss Universe 2013, the 62nd Miss Universe pageant, was held on 9 November 2013 at the Crocus City Hall, Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow, Russia. Olivia Culpo of the United States crowned her successor Gabriela Isler of Venezuela at the end of the event. 86 contestants competed for the crown.

Miss Universe 2014, the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, was held on 25 January 2015 at the FIU Arena in Miami, Florida, United States. Gabriela Isler of Venezuela crowned her successor Paulina Vega of Colombia at the end of the event. 88 contestants competed in this year with a new crown manufactured by Diamonds International Corporation the newest official jewelry sponsor of the Miss Universe Organization. This was the last Miss Universe to be aired on NBC and the last edition that Donald Trump had been the owner.
Miss World 2015, the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 19 December 2015 at the outdoor arena of the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. 114 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the very first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.
Miss Universe 2015 was the 64th Miss Universe pageant, held on 20 December 2015 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Paulina Vega of Colombia crowned her successor Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed for the crown.
Miss Universe 2017, the 66th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 26 November 2017 at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Iris Mittenaere of France crowned her successor Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa at the end of the event.
Miss World 2017, the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 November 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. 118 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico crowned her successor Manushi Chhillar of India at the end of the event. She is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World.
