McKittrick Farmers Mercantile is a historic commercial building located at McKittrick, Montgomery County, Missouri. It was built about 1897, and is a two-story, brick building on a concrete foundation. The McKittrick Farmers Mercantile was locally significant in the areas of commerce, entertainment, and recreation. It was the commercial and entertainment center as part of the Missouri Kansas and Texas Railroad line of the 1890s. [2] : 5
It served the trade needs of the local farming community housing a general store and post office on the first floor. The second floor with its stage and large assembly area hosted theatrical performances, church gatherings, and community town hall meetings and events.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 2010. [1] The National Register of Historic Places; Notification of Pending Nominations and Related Actions was published on May 10, 2010. [3]
The building is situated on the corner of Main and Washington Streets. (Now 500 Walnut Street). The brick building is one of only two commercial brick structures in the town.
Nearly all elements of the building are original. The storefront windows and display areas retain their original interior sliding wood sash with glass panels.
Next door (south) is now the gravel parking lot, trailhead, and way station for the KATY trail hike and bike path.
Today, this landmark is The Mercantile on the Katy Trail, a boutique hotel with four loft-style guest suites.
Orangeville is a village in Stephenson County, Illinois, United States. The town's sign lists the population at 800 as of January 2021. The population in 2020 was 738. The population according to the 2010 census was 793, up from 751 in 2000. Using the 2020 population of 738 Orangeville is the 741st largest city in Illinois and the 11,650th largest city in the United States. Orangeville is currently declining at a rate of -0.94% annually and its population has decreased by -6.94% since the 2010 census. The area's earliest white settlers arrived in the year 1833, and the village was platted in 1851 by John Bower, who is considered the village founder. In 1867 Orangeville was incorporated as a village. The town's central business district contains several 19th century commercial buildings, many of which were built during the railroad boom of 1888–1914. By the time the Great Depression was ongoing, business in Orangeville had started to decline, with the last bank closing in 1932. In 1956 another bank started operating in the village and is still in town today. Some recent infrastructure jumps have restored some of the village's old decor.

Today, the Heryford Building is an active commercial structure for a number of small businesses. Because of its importance to local history, the Heryford Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The John Tushek Building is a historic commercial building at 108 Main Street in Lake Village, Arkansas. The two story brick building was built in 1906 by John Tushek, an Austro-Hungarian immigrant who ran a mercantile store on the premises. The building has vernacular Beaux Arts styling popular at the time, presenting facades to both Main and Court Streets. The ground floors of these facades are divided into storefronts with large glass windows, with access to the upper floor offices via an entrance on the corner. The second floor windows are capped with decorative metal crowns, and topped by small oculus windows. The facade is topped by a corbelled brick cornice and parapet.
The Mathewson Block is a historic commercial building at 101 Main Street in the center of Lyndonville, Vermont. Built in 1869, it was the first brick commercial building erected in Lyndonville, which was founded in 1866. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Merchants National Bank Building is a two-story, red brick building in Lehigh, Oklahoma, located at the southwest corner of Main Street and Railway Street. It was one of two banks that served Lehigh during the town's mining boom. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is historically significant because it represents the economic growth and decline of Lehigh and exemplifies Late Victorian Renaissance architecture.
G. Kerndt and Brothers Elevator and Warehouses, No. 11, No.12 and No. 13 is a historic complex located in Lansing, Iowa, United States. The four Kerndt brothers were all German immigrants who settled in the Lansing area by 1854. Gustav, William and Mortiz established a broom factory and cigar business in town while Herman farmed and provided the broom corn for the factory. A fifth brother, Julian, died shortly after arriving in Iowa. They built their first grain warehouse in the late 1850s. In 1861 they began their general store, which would in time include private banking as a part of their mercantile business. In 1908 it was incorporated by the family as the Kerndt Brothers Savings Bank.

Farmers Mercantile Co. Building is a historic commercial building located at High Hill, Montgomery County, Missouri. It was built in 1904, and is two-story, frame building. It rests on a stone foundation and has a low-pitched gable roof behind a stepped parapet. The building historically served as a social and commercial center for the community.
The Zapp Building, later known as the Country Place Hotel and Restaurant, is a historic building in Fayetteville, Texas, United States. It was built in 1900 by builders Stidham and Kurtz in the Romanesque Revival style for local merchant Hugo Zapp to replace a wooden building at the site which burned down. Zapp bought a shop at this prominent location at the northwest corner of the town square in 1876. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 23, 1983, and designated a contributing property to the Fayetteville Historic District by the registrar on July 10, 2008.
