He also served in the Union cabinet as the Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences.

The Cabinet of Malaysia is the executive branch of the Government of Malaysia. Led by the Prime Minister, the cabinet is a council of ministers who are accountable collectively to the Parliament. According to the Article 43 of the Federal Constitution, members of the Cabinet can only be selected from members of either houses of Parliament. Formally, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong appoints all Ministers on the advice of the Prime Minister. The constitution is amended by repealing the Clause (8) of Article 43, enabling a person who is a member of State Legislative Assembly to continue to serve even while serving as a minister or deputy minister in the cabinet. Ministers other than the Prime Minister shall hold office during the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, unless the appointment of any Minister shall have been revoked by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Prime Minister but any Minister may resign from office. In practice, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is obliged to follow the advice of the Prime Minister on the appointment and dismissal of ministers.

Subhash Sureshchandra Deshmukh is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Deshmukh represents the Solapur South constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Ramdas Bandu Athawale is an Indian politician, social activist and trade unionist from Maharashtra. Currently, he is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India since 2016 and represents Maharashtra in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament since 2014. Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav is an Indian politician serving as the minister of AYUSH since 2024. He is a member of the Shiv Sena party and has been elected to the Lok Sabha for four consecutive terms since 2009, representing the Buldhana constituency in Maharashtra . Jadhav began his political career in 1986 and served three terms as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 1995 to 2009. During this period, he also held the position of minister of state for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Irrigation in the Shiv Sena-BJP government of Maharashtra from 1997 to 1999. Anil Vasantrao Deshmukh is an Indian politician from the state of Maharashtra. He is a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party. Deshmukh served as the Minister for Home Affairs in Government of Maharashtra between 2019 and 2021. Deshmukh resigned in 2021 as the Home Minister of Maharashtra due to allegations of money laundering and other charges by Param Bir Singh. He was arrested by ED and was kept in custody for 1 year before being released by a court order.

Aditi Sunil Tatkare is an Indian politician belonging to Nationalist Congress Party, who was State Minister of Maharashtra by Shinde government since 2023 and Thackeray Government 2019 - 2022. She is from Roha and she was elected as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Shrivardhan on 24 October 2019. She took the oath as an MLA on 26 November 2019.

Sanjay Baburao Bansode is an Indian politician from Nationalist Congress Party, who is the cabinet minister of Maharashtra from 14 July 2023 for sports, youth welfare and ports. He also served as the minister of state from 30 December 2019 to 29 June 2022 in the Uddhav Thackeray government. He is a member of Nationalist Congress Party from Latur district.

Sharad Pawar was sworn in as Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the fourth time on 6 March 1993. On appointment, Pawar formed a 18-member cabinet. The cabinet continued until the 1995 legislative elections, and was replaced by the Manohar Joshi ministry.
