The Mylo Xyloto Tour was the fifth concert tour undertaken by British rock band Coldplay. It was announced in support of their fifth album, Mylo Xyloto (2011), and began on 3 December 2011 at Scotland's SEC Centre, [3] following a series of promotional and festival performances, including Austin City Limits, [4] Glastonbury, [5] Lollapalooza, [6] and Rock in Rio. [7]
After devoting the summer of 2011 to a promotional tour in Europe, the Americas and Africa, [8] the band announced the tour via their Twitter account in September 2011. Initial dates revealed shows in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium. A set of rehearsal shows were added for October and November, seeing the band partake in radio festivals and fan-exclusive gigs. Due to the demand, the band added additional shows in the UK. One of those dates is a concert at Dingwalls in London. Here, the band played several shows to help finance their debut album. Later in November, more dates were added in the UK, this time, playing stadiums in June 2012. [9] The shows in Coventry, Manchester, Sunderland and London sold out in under two hours. [10] The tour kicked off with a live-streamed concert in Madrid. Each member of the band received £10.2 million after tax from the £118.4 million made. [11]
Prior to the tour, the band gave a promotional concert in Madrid which was streamed live on YouTube (as part of the Unstaged series). The band performed songs from Mylo Xyloto alongside their previous hits. The concert streamed on 26 October 2011. The show was not only streamed on YouTube but was also seen in New York City's Times Square. Internet users were able to view exclusive content, including a pre-show interview and footage from the band's soundcheck, and were also able to select their camera view, spanning from "front of stage" to "aerial". The show was directed by Anton Corbijn and presented by American Express. [12] The live webcast was reported to have been viewed by nearly 20 million people. [13] A replay of the show on Vevo was viewed by nearly 8 million.
The 1 June concert at London's Emirates Stadium was broadcast on Absolute Radio. [14] Titled Coldplay: Live at the Emirates, the full show was aired live and uninterrupted. [15] Before the concert aired, DJ Geoff Lloyd hosted a "Coldplay Hometime Special". The programme featured interviews with the band, alongside the band's hits. A live album and concert film, entitled Live 2012 , were released in 2012.
According to Pollstar , Coldplay grossed $181.3 million from 2.1 million tickets sold in 75 reported dates. [16] Over $170 million were earned with the performances held in 2012, which made the band rank at number four on the magazine's list of most successful tours of the year. [17]

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1997. They consist of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer and percussionist Will Champion, and manager Phil Harvey. They are best known for their live performances, and for impacting popular culture through their music, advocacy and achievements.
The Twisted Logic Tour was the third concert tour undertaken by British rock band Coldplay. It was launched in support of their third studio album, X&Y (2005) on 15 June 2005, in Hamburg. Before the concert run, they embarked in a series of warm-up shows, which included their first performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and an appearance at the HFStival.

Stade Charles-Ehrmann is a multi-use stadium in Nice, France. For sporting events it seats 8,000 spectators. It is sometimes used by the OGC Nice, for practice or friendly matches, and by their reserves team the Eaglets. For large concerts, it is used in conjunction with the indoor concert hall Palais Nikaïa, whose doors are opened and permit large crowds of up to 50,000 to view the stage inside the hall.

According to Coldplay's official website, the single was not initially chart eligible in the United Kingdom, because it was available on iTunes as an "instant grat" when pre-ordering the album. "Princess of China" is a duet recorded by British rock band Coldplay and Barbadian singer Rihanna for Coldplay's fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto. The song was written by band members Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, and Chris Martin, with additional composition by Brian Eno and a sample from "Takk..." performed by Sigur Rós. The song was released as the fourth single from Mylo Xyloto and was sent to US Mainstream radio on 14 February 2012. It was later released as a digital download on 13 April 2012. A companion EP to the single, featuring an acoustic version of the song, was released on 1 June 2012.
"Charlie Brown" is a song by British rock band Coldplay. The song was released as the third single from their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto. The single was listed by Q magazine as their track of the day on 2 December 2011. The music video for the song was released on 2 February 2012, as well as a live version on 6 December 2011. Despite the name, the lyrics have no relation to the Peanuts franchise whatsoever.
"Hurts Like Heaven" is a song by British rock band Coldplay from their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto. It was written by all members of the band along with producer Brian Eno, being released as the final single from the record on 8 October 2012. The track promoted the comics which tied into the original story from Mylo Xyloto. On 16 April 2013, the band announced it as a 7" limited single for Record Store Day, with a live version of "Us Against the World" serving as its B-side.
Our Version of Events Tour was a debut global concert tour by Scottish singer Emeli Sandé, in support of her 2012 debut album, Our Version of Events. The tour ran for over two years from 2011 till 2013, covering five continents in the process.
A Xyloband is a wristband that contains light-emitting diodes and a radio frequency receiver. Used primarily in the live entertainment industry, it was launched by RB Concepts Ltd, a company set up by entrepreneur Clive Banks with inventor Jason Regler. The lights inside the wristband can be controlled by a software program, which sends signals to the wristband, instructing it to light up or blink, for example. The single colour version is available in green, blue, yellow, red, pink, and white.
Live 2012 is the collective name for the official documentation of the Mylo Xyloto Tour, performed, recorded and released by British alternative rock band Coldplay. The project consists of a worldwide theatrical and home media film release, Coldplay's third live album, after Live 2003 and LeftRightLeftRightLeft, and a 183-page e-book depicting the tour.

Ghost Stories is the sixth studio album by the British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 19 May 2014 by Parlophone in the United Kingdom and Atlantic Records in the United States. Co-produced by the group along with Paul Epworth and Mylo Xyloto collaborators Dan Green and Rik Simpson, it was their first album to be distributed by Atlantic in North America, as Coldplay were transferred from Capitol Records in 2013 after Universal Music purchased EMI and all of its assets in the previous year, a transaction which ultimately required the sale of Parlophone to Warner Music.
The Ghost Stories Tour was the sixth concert tour undertaken by British rock band Coldplay. It was announced on 17 April 2014 in support of their sixth studio album, Ghost Stories, and marked a return to live performing at more intimate venues following the stadium, arena and festival shows from Mylo Xyloto Tour (2011–12). The band performed all songs from the album's standard version and some of their previous material. Concerts began on 25 April 2014 at Germany's E-Werk and ended at the BMW Welt on 6 December 2014, being noted for combining live and pre-recorded content for small settings.
The A Head Full of Dreams Tour was the seventh concert tour undertaken by British rock band Coldplay. It was announced on 27 November 2015 in support of their seventh studio album, A Head Full of Dreams, and marked a return to live performing at stadiums following the intimate shows from Ghost Stories Tour (2014), which saw the band playing in venues such as the Beacon Theatre and Royal Albert Hall. With exception of "Fun" and hidden track "X Marks the Spot", all songs from the album were played. The band combined extensive use of laser light and pyrotechnic special effects with raw, acoustic segments between stages, complementing performances with a new version of the Xylobands from Mylo Xyloto Tour (2011–12).
The Music of the Spheres World Tour is the ongoing eighth concert tour undertaken by British rock band Coldplay. It is being staged to promote their ninth and tenth studio albums, Music of the Spheres (2021) and Moon Music (2024), respectively. The tour began at San José's Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica on 18 March 2022 and is scheduled to end at London's Wembley Stadium on 8 September 2025. It is the band's return to live performances after the COVID-19 pandemic. They had not toured their previous record, Everyday Life (2019), because of environmental concerns. Prior to the tour, they spent two years developing strategies that aimed to reduce CO2 emissions by 50%, compared to the Head Full of Dreams Tour (2016–17).
