Nodales Channel [1] is a channel along the coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is located between East Thurlow Island and Sonora Island, in the Discovery Islands archipelago between Vancouver Island and the mainland coast, north of the Salish Sea. [1]

Nodales Channel connects to Cordero Channel and Frederick Arm, to the northeast, and to the junction of Discovery Passage and Johnstone Strait, to the southwest.

The channel features Hemming Bay on the northern East Thurlow Island side. [2] Thurston Bay is on the southern Sonora Island side, [3] near a cluster of bays, Binnington Bay, Handfield Bay, and Cameleon Harbour, [4] [5] [6] in a small inlet connected to Nodales Channel by Burgess Passage and Young Passage. [7] [8]

Thurston Bay Marine Park is located on Davis Point, between Thurston Bay and Nodales Channel. [9]

Cordero Channel runs north of Sonora Island, East Thurlow Island, and part of West Thurlow Island. Its eastern end connects to the mouth of Bute Inlet and to Calm Channel, at Stuart Island. Allison Harbour, also formerly known as False Bay and False Schooner Passage, is a natural harbour on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, extending north from Queen Charlotte Strait to the southeast of Bramham Island. It is the site of the former post office and steamer landing of Allison Harbour, British Columbia. The Allison Reefs lie in the entrance to the sound; Allison Cone (185m), which is nearby between Shelter Bay and Cape Caution, was named in association with Allison Harbour. It is now protected as part of Allison Harbour Marine Provincial Park.

Nanaimo Harbour, also known as the Port of Nanaimo, is a natural harbour on the east coast of Vancouver Island in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The city of Nanaimo runs along the west side of the harbour. Three islands, Newcastle, Protection, and Gabriola, along with Duke Point, form the eastern edge. The Port of Nanaimo includes the Inner Harbour, Nanaimo River estuary, Departure Bay, the waters on the east side of Newcastle and Protection Islands, and Northumberland Channel. The port is under the management of the Nanaimo Port Authority.
