RuPaul's Drag Race Live! is an American residency show in Las Vegas, Nevada featuring past competitors from the television show RuPaul's Drag Race . The variety show features a mix of original music, lip syncs, comedy, and dance numbers directed by RuPaul and choreographed by Drag Race resident choreographer Jamal Sims. [1] It is produced by World of Wonder and Voss Events and performs five nights a week. [2] Performed at the Flamingo Las Vegas, which formerly housed the eleven-year run of the Donny and Marie Osmond show.

RuPaul's Drag Race Live! was originally announced in September 2019 at RuPaul's DragCon NYC. [3] The show premiered on January 26, 2020 and ran until March 15, 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic put performances on hold. Performances resumed in January 2022 with a new rotating cast featuring newcomers Jaida Essence Hall, Eureka O'Hara, Trinity K. Bonet, and Plastique Tiara and swing cast members Coco Montrese, Kahanna Montrese, and Alexis Mateo. [4]

The live show features a rotating cast of thirteen performers, all Drag Race alumni. These queens are Yvie Oddly, Aquaria, Asia O'Hara, Coco Montrese, Derrick Barry, Eureka O'Hara, India Ferrah, Kahanna Montrese, Kameron Michaels, Kim Chi, Naomi Smalls, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, and Shannel. [3] The show's Pit Crew all double as dancers in the queens' numbers. [5] Crew members include AJ Watkins, Dallas Eli, Filip Lacina, Michael Silas, Nick Lemer, and Sebastian Gonzalez and Ryan Grainger as the assistant choreographer and dance captain. [5]

Music

The show's score includes songs from the past eleven seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race and new numbers, written by RuPaul, Leland, and World of Wonder's chief creative officer Tom Campbell and produced by Gabe Lopez. " [1] A soundtrack EP was released through RuCo Inc on January 27, 2020. [6] Three songs from the show, "Mirror Song", "Losing is the New Winning", and "I Made It" were performed in a medley in an episode of Drag Race season 12 by Crystal Methyd, Gigi Goode, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall and Sherry Pie.

Documentary

On July 22, 2020, a six part documentary series called RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue was announced, which premiered on August 21, 2020 on VH1. An extended first look aired on July 24, 2020 during the fifth-season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars . [7]

Another six-part documentary titled RuPaul's Drag Race Live Untucked was announced in October 2023. [8] It premiered on April 17, 2024 on WOW Presents Plus. [9]

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is an American reality competition spin off edition of the original RuPaul's Drag Race, which is produced by World of Wonder, for Logo TV and later VH1. The show premiered on October 22, 2012, on Logo TV, before relocating to VH1. However, it was announced on February 20, 2020, on the show's official Twitter account that the fifth season would premiere on June 5, 2020, on Showtime. Following the cast announcement on May 8, 2020, producers announced that the show would remain airing on VH1 instead of Showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused "various scheduling and programming adjustments". On February 24, 2021, Paramount+ announced via Twitter that the streaming service would be the new home to the series for the sixth season.

RuPaul's DragCon NYC is an annual fan convention and expo of drag culture held in New York City, which debuted in September 2017. It is based on the successful RuPaul's DragCon LA which was launched in Los Angeles in 2015 billed as a “convention that celebrates ‘the art of drag, queer culture and self-expression for all’”. The NYC event is considered the "world's largest celebration of drag culture" with 100,000 attendees. The event is an outgrowth of the internationally successful RuPaul's Drag Race, which generated Drag Race Thailand, RuPaul's Drag Race UK, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and Chile's The Switch Drag Race. We're Here is an American reality television series on HBO featuring former Drag Race contestants. The series premiered on April 23, 2020, and documents drag queens as they travel across the United States to recruit small-town residents to participate in one-night-only drag shows. In June 2020, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on October 11, 2021. In December 2021, the series was renewed for a third season which premiered on November 25, 2022. The first three seasons featured Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O'Hara and Shangela. A fourth season was announced in 2023 with new queens Jaida Essence Hall, Priyanka, Sasha Velour and Latrice Royale.

Since her season aired in 2020, Hall has been a staple of several domestic and international tours that feature Drag Race contestants, including Werq the World, A Drag Queen Christmas, and Drive 'N Drag. Pit Crew (<i>Drag Race</i>) Group of male models

The Pit Crew is the ensemble of scantily clad male models who appear on camera for various segments of the American television series RuPaul's Drag Race and its derivatives, utilizing the motif of car drag racing. During season 6 of Drag Race, and on Drag Race Thailand, the group are known as the Scruff Pit Crew. The group are called the Brit Crew on RuPaul's Drag Race UK. A behind-the-scenes weekly web series Oh Pit Crew launched in 2014 with season six and airs on WOW Presents Plus, and its related YouTube channel.

RuPaul's Drag Race Live Untucked is a television series that premiered on WOW Presents Plus on April 17, 2024. The show follows cast members of the RuPaul's Drag Race Live! variety show in Las Vegas as they prepare for, and after, their performances. The concept is based on RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked, which is a spin-off of RuPaul's Drag Race and has been adapted by other iterations of the Drag Race franchise.
