It is native to Angola, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, India, Ivory Coast, Japan, New Guinea, Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, and Zambia.
