Shibis District (Somali : Degmada Shibis) is a district of the southeastern Banaadir region of Somalia. One of the oldest districts in Mogadishu, it is bordered by Karan District, Yaqshid District, Bondhere District and Abdiaziz District.
Of the many notable places in Shibis are: NSS headquarters, Saudi Arabia embassy, the house of late Siad Barre, Global Hotel and others.
Mogadishu, locally known as Xamar or Hamar, is the capital and most populous city of Somalia. The city has served as an important port connecting traders across the Indian Ocean for millennia, and has an estimated urban population of 6,449,083 (2023). Mogadishu is located in the coastal Banadir region on the Indian Ocean, which unlike other Somali regions, is considered a municipality rather than a maamul goboleed.
Galguduud is an administrative region (gobol) of Galmudug state in central Somalia. Its administrative capital is Dusmareb. The largest town in the region is Abudwak, which lies on the north-westernmost point of the region.

Shibi is a king featured in Hindu texts. He is described to be the son of Ushinara of the Chandravamsha. King Shibii was known for his liberal beliefs and selflessness. In one of his legends, he is said to have rescued Agni from Indra by offering up his flesh.
Panyu, alternately romanized as Punyu, is one of 11 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China. It was a separate county-level city before its incorporation into modern Guangzhou in 2000. The present district covers an area of about 530 km2 (200 sq mi).
Shibi Jataka is one of the Jataka tales detailing episodes of the various incarnations of Buddha. Each Jataka tale illustrates the Buddhist ideals of Dhamma and sacrifice in various forms. Tradition states that these tales were narrated by Buddha himself during his ministry in India to emphasise that by the constant practice of virtuous deeds one reaches the status of Nirvana or enlightenment.

Shibi is a Japanese ornamental tile set on both ends of the ridgepole that tops a shingled roof. The kanji for the word mean "kite" and "tail" respectively. Because it resembles a shoe, it is sometimes also called a kutsugata (沓形), meaning "shoe shape".

The Battle of Mogadishu (2009) started in May with an Islamist offensive, when rebels from al-Shabaab and Hizbul Islam attacked and captured government bases in the capital of Mogadishu. The fighting soon spread, causing hundreds of casualties, and continued on at various levels of intensity until October. The battle's name usually includes the year, when referenced, in order to distinguish it amongst the nine major Battles of Mogadishu during the decades long Somali Civil War.

Ummada Road or as it is called "Wadnaha" which passes through Yaqshid District. Lower Juba road that passes through Shingani District. Nasib Bundo Road which divides Bondhere District and Shabelle Road which borders Bondhere and Hamarweyne Districts.

Hassan Mohamed Hussein "Muungaab" Arabic: حسن محمد حسين مونجاب) is a Somali politician. He served as Mayor of Mogadishu & Governor of the Banaadir region between 27 February 2014 to 26 October 2015. He also served as State Minister of Justice between August 2016 to 8 February 2017.
