Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force is an action platformer game developed and published by Ubisoft. Released in September 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, the game follows Luke Skywalker through the Star Wars original trilogy.

Gameplay

Much of Apprentice of the Force's gameplay takes place in a side-scrolling, platforming based environment. As Luke Skywalker, the player originally only has access to basic jumps and blaster-based combat, but as Luke learns more of the Force and the way of the Jedi, he gains the ability to wield a lightsaber to fight in melee combat, and deflect projectiles. In addition to the basic platforming, there are also minor puzzles to solve to progress. Occasionally, Luke will have to protect an NPC, such as R2-D2 or Princess Leia to progress. There are also still several stages where Luke takes control of a ship in vehicle based combat where he must avoid oncoming obstacles whilst defeating foes. There are also several boss fights throughout the game, such as against Boba Fett or Darth Vader.

The gameplay has been compared to the Game Boy Advance version of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in that the same side-scrolling engine is used, and that the player can slow down time temporarily. [4] A player who beats the game is given the option of replaying most of the ship and boss levels.

Plot

The player controls Luke Skywalker throughout the entire original trilogy of the Star Wars saga, beginning from his time on Tatooine in A New Hope, all the way to his eventual destiny as a Jedi Master in Return of the Jedi.

Development

Apprentice of the Force uses the engine of the GBA version of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time . [4] It has advanced graphics by the standards of the Game Boy Advance, using 3D images for the character models.[ citation needed ]

Reception

The game was met with average to mixed reception upon release; review aggregation website GameRankings gave it an average score of 65.32%, [5] whilst fellow site Metacritic gave it an average score of 60 out of 100. [6]

GameSpot, giving the game a 6.4/10, were mixed on the game, complimenting its audio and visuals, whilst bemoaning its repetitive combat and short length, stating that whilst there were some "choice moments" in the game, "they don't come up as often as they should in this short action game." [15]

He trains as a Jedi under Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, and eventually confronts his father, the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Years later, Luke trains his nephew Ben Solo and mentors the scavenger Rey. Luke is the twin brother of Leia Organa.

Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi is a character in the Star Wars franchise. In the original film trilogy, he is a Jedi Master who trains Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Force. In the prequel trilogy, he mentors Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker. Obi-Wan is portrayed by Alec Guinness in the original trilogy and by Ewan McGregor in the prequel films. McGregor also plays the character in the television series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Guinness' performance in Star Wars (1977) earned him the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor, as well as a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The Skywalker family is a fictional legendary human family in the Star Wars franchise. Luke Skywalker, his twin sister Princess Leia Organa, and their father Darth Vader are central characters in the original Star Wars film trilogy. It consists mostly of vehicular combat using clone warships, starfighters, speeder bikes and tanks, as well as missions where players can control Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Mace Windu on foot. For the Xbox 360's backwards compatible lineup, Revenge of the Sith is one out of the 400+ backwards compatible games for the 360. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a 2008 action-adventure game developed and published by LucasArts, and part of The Force Unleashed multimedia project. It was initially developed for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles and on iOS, second-generation N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Java-equipped mobile phone handhelds. The game was released in North America on September 16, 2008, in Australia and Southeast Asia on September 17, and in Europe on September 19. LucasArts released downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The story follows the pilots of the space ship Millennium Falcon, Han Solo and his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca, as they help save the galaxy from the Empire's forces.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith is an expansion pack for the 1997 first-person shooter Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, developed and published by LucasArts for Microsoft Windows in 1998. It was re-released on Steam in September 2009. The expansion includes a new single-player story mode and fifteen multiplayer maps. The single-player story, set in the fictional Star Wars expanded universe five years after the events of Dark Forces II, follows both returning protagonist Kyle Katarn, a Jedi Master and mercenary working for the New Republic, and Mara Jade, a character featured in numerous Star Wars expanded universe works, who is being trained by Katarn in the Jedi arts. After Katarn goes missing while investigating an ancient Sith temple, Jade continues her studies on her own while undertaking missions from the New Republic, eventually leaving to find Katarn.
