Street Fighter is an upcoming American martial arts film directed by Kitao Sakurai from a screenplay by Dalan Musson. It is the third live-action film adaptation of the video game series published by Capcom, and overall fourth live-action feature-length adaptation [1] , serving as a reboot of the film series. The film features an ensemble cast starring Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Joe "Roman Reigns" Anoaʻi, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Andrew Schulz, Eric André, Vidyut Jammwal, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, and Jason Momoa.
Legendary Entertainment acquired the live-action film and television rights to the Street Fighter franchise in April 2023, by which point the film had entered active development with Capcom co-producing. Danny and Michael Philippou were initially announced to direct the film before dropping out in June 2024, and Kitao Sakurai boarded the project the following February. Casting was underway by May 2025, with Centineo, Koji, Momoa, and Reigns entering negotiations to star, being finalized alongside the addition of Peck, Liang, Jackson, and Schulz the following month. The cast was rounded out with the addition of Dastmalchian, Rhodes, Goto, and Jammwal in their respective roles throughout July. Principal photography began in August 2025.
Street Fighter is scheduled to be released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on October 16, 2026.
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER! [2]

In April 2023, Legendary Entertainment purchased the live-action film and television rights to the Street Fighter video game series from Capcom, and was in development on the movie; it would be the third live-action film based on the games following Street Fighter (1994) and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009), [3] and overall fourth live-action feature-length adaptation of the game franchise following Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist (2014). That same month, brothers Danny and Michael Philippou were in talks to direct the film. [4] However, in June 2024, the Philippous dropped out to focus on Bring Her Back (2025). [5] In February 2025, Kitao Sakurai was hired as the director of the film. [6]
In May, Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Jason Momoa, and Roman Reigns were in talks to join the film. [7] In June 2025, the four of them were confirmed, alongside Orville Peck and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. [8] [9] Shortly thereafter, 50 Cent confirmed that he had been cast as Balrog following reports of his involvement the same day. [10] Andrew Schulz also joined the cast as Dan Hibiki. [11] In July, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Hirooki Goto, and Vidyut Jammwal joined the cast as M. Bison, Guile, E. Honda, and Dhalsim, respectively. [12] [13] [14] [15] In September, Eric André, Olivier Richters, Mel Jarnson, Rayna Vallandingham, Alexander Volkanovski and Kyle Mooney were announced to have joined the cast. [2]
Principal photography began in Australia on August 18, 2025. [10] [16]
