Tonse West is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. [1] [2] It is located in the Udupi taluk of Udupi district in Karnataka.
As of 2001 India census, Tonse West had a population of 8358 with 3980 males and 4378 females. [1]
Udupi district in the Karnataka state of India was created in August 1997. The three northern tehsils of Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala, were separated from Dakshina Kannada District to form Udupi district. Moodabidri was officially declared as new tehsil (taluk), separated from Karkala with effect from January 11, 2018. The district headquarters are in the city of Udupi.
