Cherkady is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. [1] [2] It is located in the Udupi taluk of Udupi district in Karnataka.

As of 2001 India census, Cherkady had a population of 6132 with 2970 males and 3162 females. [1]

Geography description- cherkady is surrounded by many other villages like Aroor and Nelavara in west, Kokkarne and Karje in north, Suralu and Adapadi in east.

cherkady has ancient temples they are Shri Durga Parameshwari temple Kannaru and Halvali Math.

village's economy mainly stands on agriculture, poultry and dairy farming, most of the people grow paddy and other edibles. youths are mostly attracted towards government and government jobs, cashew and bidi industries are numerous in the village, One of the best bakery chef ever Sathish Marakala/Kundar is residing near at Pethri and he is working at a Big Company at Deralakatte

weekly fair take place in every Saturday at Pethri one of the hub where farmer and other petty shopper sell their items.
