Ukraine national football team 2016

Last updated

In 2016, the Ukraine national football team was a 23-man squad managed by Mykhaylo Fomenko. They played a total of 12 games which included friendlies, UEFA Group Stage matches and FIFA World Cup qualification matches.

In the UEFA European Championship, the team qualified for the competition through the play-off qualifying process for the first time. They had to settle for a play-off place after they finished third due to poor results against Spain and Slovakia.

During this season, the squad had hopes for three top players Yevhen Konoplyanka, Denys Garmash and Andriy Yarmolenko.
