Newhaven is an inner–city district in the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh, which lays between Leith and Granton and is about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the city centre of Edinburgh, just north of the Victoria Park district.
John Blair Balfour, 1st Baron Kinross was a Scottish lawyer and Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1880 to 1899.
Alexander Asher was a Scottish politician and lawyer, who was elected as Member of Parliament for the Elgin Burghs constituency from 1881 until his death in 1905. He was also Solicitor General for Scotland on three occasions, and was Dean of the Faculty of Advocates.
