Harpa Þorsteinsdóttir is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a striker. During her career, she won both the Úrvalsdeild and the Icelandic Cup three times. She scored 181 goals in 252 matches in the Úrvalsdeild, and was the league's top scorer on three occasions. She played 67 matches for the Iceland national team, scoring 19 goals.
Martin Hermannsson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Valencia of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He also internationally represents the Icelandic national basketball team, with which he participated in the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017. In 2019, Martin was named the Icelandic Men's Basketball Player of the Year for the fourth year in a row.
Logi Gunnarsson is an Icelandic former basketball player who played most of his career for Njarðvík in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla. He was a member of the Icelandic national basketball team, where he participated at the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017. During his career he has won the Icelandic championship three times, in 1998, 2001 and 2002, and the Icelandic Cup twice, in 2002 and 2021. In 2001, he was named the Icelandic Male Basketball Player of the Year.
Ægir Þór Steinarsson is an Icelandic basketball player for LEB Oro club CB Lucentum Alicante and the Icelandic national team, where he participated at the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017.

Jón Axel Guðmundsson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Victoria Libertas Pesaro of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He played college basketball for the Davidson Wildcats. He won two national championships with Grindavík in 2012 and 2013 and the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2014.

On 13 March 2020, with each team having one game left, the season was postponed for at least four weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country. On 18 March, the rest of the season was canceled. Fjölnir was relegated and Stjarnan was named divisional champions for having the best record at the time of the cancelation but no national champions would be named for the season.

It concluded on 2 June 2021 with Valur winning their second title after beating Haukar 3–0 in the Úrvalsdeild finals.
